Matija Nastasic

Never looks out of place. Not only does he not look out of place, he actually looks one of the better players on the pitch most days. We're talking about a 19 year old kid who's settling into a new country who's playing against the likes of Madrid and the European champions. Nearly won us the game today

A song for Nastasic - 999 Nasty Nasty:

It is clear to most fans by now that Nastasic is a special talent. He will develop more quickly playing first team football regularly than he would playing at EDS level and that is good enough for me.

There are so may of us that believe that De Niro has posted a clarkie because so many of us believe in the player. He shows a positional sense and composure that belie his years and I look forward to watching him develop into a legendary player at the club. The management team have placed considerable faith in someone so young and I trust their judgement.

Joleon is a good premiership defender and I will always support him while he is at the club; particularly because he helped us win our first trophies since I was 7 and cheering beneath my Dad's protective shield. Joleon's achilles heel though is, unfortunately for him, the strength very apparent in Matija: composure. Joleon often looks uncomfortable when he has the ball and, his passing range places limitations on the midfield as they drop deeper to collect the ball and secure possession. All will show in time of course but let us all for now just celebrate the potential emergence of a precocious talent.

cheering beneath my Dad's protective shield

expand please....

Although I haven't been one of those going overboard about Nastasic since he has been starting, today he was clearly our best player. He received no credit at all from Wilkins or Quinn and I was suprised Neville gave MoM to Vinnie (not that he was poor). For 19 he exudes a calm presence allied to good technical ability and assured passing. We miss Lescott's aerial presence at corners in both boxes but overall Nasty looks a more complete player and he will only get better.

someone at the ground the other day suggested we should have kept dunnie, not a bad shout tbh. prem player through and through, ok he wouldn't start in front of lescott but what a player to have around. a blue legend. i suppose its the de jong v garcia debate, you have to ask wtf?

De Niro mate, in the words of Tubes from SoccerAM you're a great guy and I love you, but you need a night off and a good lie in. Some of your posts tonight have been a bit ropey.
