Matija Nastasic

This thread has become somewhat of a joke, last few pages or so are a a big clarkie by de Niro and people are either attempting shit reverse clarkies or biting hard.

Everyone knows Nastasic is the new Baresi/Maldini mix I like to think of him as 'Bardini'

What a great name - let's hope he can live up to that high billing - from what I've seen from him as a 19 yo - he has every chance of becoming a world great renowned centre half.

he was my man of the match today. just as solid as kompany, yet half as many mistakes, and he's 19...

our defence and it's cover is very strong;

RB - Zabaleta, Richards, Maicon
RCB - Kompany, Kolo, Zabaleta, Richards
LCB - Nastasic, Lescott, Clichy
LB - Clichy, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Lescott

Won't go overboard, but considering his age and what he just did, yeah there is reason for excitement. How often do you see someone that young not panic ever?

How good he becomes will depend on how well he can develop his deep passing.

What the poster above said about not panicking. How fucking cool is he whilst with the ball at his feet at 19 bloody years of age.

We've only seem him for so few games so I ain't going to do a 'Patrick Barclay' and jump to conclusions but I'm really impressed and confident we have a top player in Matija.

In fact like a 'clarkie' for being taken in, I reckon after every devastating draw we have those that throw their toys out the pram should be known as 'barclays'.

Against Real Madrid and Chelsea he gave a great account of himself, I'd like to see him keep starting and get as many games under his belt as he can. If he stays on track I think we'll have something very special on our hands.

Although I haven't been one of those going overboard about Nastasic since he has been starting, today he was clearly our best player. He received no credit at all from Wilkins or Quinn and I was suprised Neville gave MoM to Vinnie (not that he was poor). For 19 he exudes a calm presence allied to good technical ability and assured passing. We miss Lescott's aerial presence at corners in both boxes but overall Nasty looks a more complete player and he will only get better.

I can see why VK was MoM. The way he man handled Torres. There were 2-3 times Torres was in on goal but VK made some great tackles. When he turned and looked at Torres and waved his hands for him to get up wanderers.
