Mats Hummels (The man to bolster Man City defence)

This and his tendency to make some huge mistakes in important games are the reason i don't think he is champions league quality. Even thou stats are backing him up as a top class CB i just cant overlook his flaws..

I count one this season…

Because he had a dodgy first few months, some people seem to use this a legitimate excuse to use Joleon as a scapegoat. Despite the fact he has been nothing short of excellent since then.

As for the passing back thing, surely the first instruction our team is given is to keep possession. He does that. He knows he isn't able to make that killer pass, so passes it on to the safe option.

Its seems a standard tactic of City, (and even England yesterday!), was Lescott passes back to Hart who hoofs it upfield and then we likely lose possession.

its not the fact that there slaggin him off in my opinion, there simply stating that even though he has been top class this season and deserves his place in the team next year, if we want to push on in the champions league i think his limited ball skills and pace may not be good enough, hence why i think we need a another top class centre back...but like you said he is a superb defender who without last season we would of not won the league.

Joleon had a superb season and did not get the praise that he fully deserved. I listened to a recent interview with Vincent where he stated that Joleon should be the first CB picked for England. Great reader of a game and deserves all accolades

Hummels has just signed a new contract at Dortmund until 2017, so I doubt he's going anywhere...
