Transfer game for advanced players. Barcelona on course to attract De Jong, City is chasing De Ligt

The future of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong is becoming increasingly clear. Manchester City is the main bidder for De Ligt, while Barcelona seems to win the fight for De Jong.

Both players have never made a secret of it after leaving Ajax this season. All sorts of European top clubs have explicitly looked at the two talents, where a transfer game erupted between the superpowers.

For example, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City have the focus on De Ligt. The nineteen-year captain of the team from Amsterdam is at the top of Manchester City's wish list. The English top club sees in him the desired defensive reinforcement for next summer.

City was also in the market for Frenkie de Jong, but could not compete against the transfer violence of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. Both clubs compete for the signature of the 21-year-old midfielder, where the Spaniards have the best papers. Spanish media such as Marca, AS and Ràdio Catalunya report that Barcelona is willing to pay 90 million euros to Ajax and thereby trumpets PSG.

Besides De Ligt and De Jong, more players are working on their last months at Ajax. This week in VI the perspective of the thirteen core players of the Amsterdammers.
 
Fingers crossed. Generational talent, and we’d have 3 of the best Centre Backs in the world, all 25 and younger. I guess Otamendi would be moved on, which is a shame.

Really hope Liverpool don’t make a move. Having the two main CBs from the national team, replacing Lovren and having a strong, young core in defence would massively improve them for years to come.
 
If our cb pairings for the next few years would be two out of Stones, Laporte, Garcia and De Ligt, I’d be fine with that.
Just wondering where it leaves Kompany, Otamendi and even Tosin. Kompany one year extension to finalise his career, Otamendi to be sold (if so he has been a great servant) and Tosin will need to prove his inclusion although it looks like he is going the same route as Rekik or Denayer. He might even be sold.
Furthermore I don’t know if any more cb’s come in through the academy.
 
Lol this one is not going to happen. We are not going to get into a bidding war for a player that will definitely draw one in a position we do not need.

PSG needs midfielder. de Jong deal was making sense and i think, since they are close friends, there were talks to bid for him as well.

However now, i don't see the credibility of the links between PSG and him. PSG has already 4 CB and 1 DM. With de Jong going for close to 90 M, it sets a number close to that range for their other wonderboy. Waste of money if PSG goes for him imo.
 
Seems like the friendship link between de Ligt and de Jong is at full force. Before they were both announced close to PSG and now, de Telegraff annouces that de Ligt wants to join Barcelona too.
They even report the catalan side would be ready to pay 90 M€ with Raiola the only stumbling block. City, Juventus and PSG remains interested in him.
 
Only take him if otamendi forces a move and then send Garcia out for one year loan to a mid table epl club for experience and vinny agrees a year extension (which then turns into him retiring next season) which allows Garcia back into the club with space
 
If Laporte and Stones are set for long term,I don't think De Ligt will like to play as third choice and this leaves us with another possibility of yet another talent in Garcia possibly making his exit if at all we sign De Ligt.
