Matthijs de Ligt

Hard to understand? He chose the dream over money to join Barca, then chose money over the dream with QSG - how'd those choices work out in comparison so far?
Utter bollocks, Naymar is 1 greedy fucker, him, his parents & everything associated with him screwed Barcalona, his dad should have gone to jail & Naymar should have also been banged up.

Messi twice has broken the Spanish Tax law as have others at Barca.
He may have got more money at PSG but he left for 1 reason only to be top dog & not No 2 or even No 3 if he stayed at Barca.
Yes driven by cash but who isn't but to say PSG pay more is an understatement

What's the new infatuation with Barca all about? I get bored reading back and forth arguments about Barca.

Either you failed to grasp the point or intentionally ignore it. Often, players choose Barcelona for aspects that cannot be made up for in terms of wages alone. It's not the first and will certainly not be the last that player A will choose going to Barcelona over another who offers more in wages - that is part of what distinguishes my club.

Alexis is a great example. He took less to come to Barcelona from Udinese but then Pep left and once he went ot the Premiership and saw a chance to improve his situation opted for wages over Pep & chances to win titles.

Neymar turned down a more lucrative offer from RM in leaving Santos to come to Barcelona and then took even bigger wages/benefits to go to QSG. Choices, you're faced with them all the time in life but in football, when you follow the money alone it rarely works out longterm

Haha what a load of bollocks. Players and like whores, but they play for money.

The only reason a player would want Barca more than another club offering more is either because they can make more in sponsorship being at Barca or there are more opportunities to win things because they are in more comps or have a better chance of winning them...

That is all. Anything else is pure fantasy.

If Barca are so good why are they so shit?

As for De Ligt what a fucking pre-madonna. If we do get him I hope he setttles down.

i imagine that big clubs clubs like Barca, Juventus also offer a player wider prospects beyond playing too - players can go on to manage / coach etc with the kind of history that such clubs have.

Become a star in a star studded team and the world becomes an oyster.

Solskjær basically shares the philosophy of Pep and Klopp.
I think the next season of Manchester United is expected to be very different.
In that respect, De Ligt's destination could be MU.
If we want him, we have to consider this possibility.

i really can't see any one being interested in Utd until they sort their shit out.

Lakaku and Pogba effectively forcing Jose out the doorr... All that 'no one man is bigger than the club,' bs... Unless their value dictates otherwise, oc.... Nevile's call that the club needs sorting from the top down... Their failure to finish top 4... It doesn't really look like a good choice, and while Ole may now be full time, he is still a caretaker manager in all but name.

Given De ligt's other options, a Utd in total dissaray isn't something he should consider imho.

Why would any player consider such a club as Utd over City, given Pep's style and the accolades they've earned thus far, and the future possibilities both clubs have to offer?

I'm really not sure that Solskjær, Klopp and Pep share a philosophy beyond wanting the very best for their club, which should be a given in any manager.

Barca are no longer the team they were. If it's the lure of that legacy that has Deelites eye, it's fool's gold. City stand to make the move to that upper echelon in the coming seasons... would like to think he'd want to 'trend'. He'd slot in as a starter at RCB next to Laps on the left. At Barca he'd have to beat out Umtiti and then play LCB as he's not unseating Pique.

Latest news seems to be Barca offering £120k/week salary and United offering £260k/week

I say we split the difference personally. Sterling joined for about 180 a week at the same age.
