Was just wondering how our Japanese club were doing. They don't seem to get too much coverage compared to USA & Australia.

Wonder if City will have an update page/s on the website for the City group - USA/Australia/Japan/other?

City Group have just appointed Erick Mombaerts at Yokohama

So Marinos took a French coach who had a purple patch in the early 2000s yet has a questionable record otherwise and totally coincidentally happens to be someone who is a friend of Platini?

There seems to be more than football concerns here.

CFG gave the Marinos a shortlist of 10 managers they could get them. Of those managers, the guys in Japan selected Mombaerts. On top of that, I'm not sure Platini is going to be won over just because someone he chats to has been given a job. It's not quite the same as hiring his son. I would imagine that quite a lot of older French managers are on good terms with Platini, but I'm pretty sure this is a coincidence.

Were this to go ahead, the team would become the fourth after NYCFC, Melbourne City and Yokohama F. Marinos to join the City Football Group.
