MCFC buy J league club Yokohama Marinos

City have a stake, dont own them and will probably use it as a feeder club for Japanese talent.

I think this stake is to to open ourselves up to possibly setting up the new City way in Yokohama's academy leading to possible next generation Japanase stars to come and play for City.

Japan is the best Asian national team and the quality of the players they are producing is increasing all the time, it would not surprise me to see Japan eventually become the new Belgium.

The plan is there for all to see - our owners want to create one global 'City' therefore expanding the fan base which is pretty damn frightening as we will grow and grow.

No wonder they are all trying to stop us they can see what is coming the possibilities are endless.

Can you imagine being a 'City' fan in Manchester meaning the same thing as being a 'City' fan in New York or Melbourne it's a very clever concept.

I'm happy to be part of the global City family that's for sure!

And I did see comments on Twitter recently to the effect that Orlando Pirates from Soweto have some advertising campaign with cerrtain slogans and the like that are rather similar to NYCFC's.

About half an hour ago I was explaining to an egg-chaser colleague that City were now part of a global group including NYCFC and Melbourne Heart, and that we'd probably be looking at investing in a club in Asia soon. How coincidental.

But the club offices are in another suburb of Johannesburg and they seem to play at Ellis Park, Johannesburg too - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.orlandopiratesfc.com/default.asp?cId=14428" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.orlandopiratesfc.com/default.asp?cId=14428</a>. So maybe we're kind of both right. :)

I think that's just like a gentleman's agreement type partnership. I don't think Chelsea or Abramovich own any part of Vitesse.

Soweto is part of Johannesburg anyway. Its like Rochdale is a part of Greater Manchester, Chester is a part of Lancashire, Leeds is a part of Yorkshire.
