In theory I'm against it, but in practice it was the only decision we could take. If he had the ignominy of being stripped of the captaincy his form might well have gone south. It'd be a vote of no confidence basically.

Supporting your football team is a bit like supporting your family.
Some people are bound to act out of line, in ways that might displease you and others. It's an unfortunate consequence of people wanting to attain different things in their respective lives.
However, at the end of the day when all is said and done, regardless of how somebody has acted out when the players pull on that sky blue shirt they have my unconditional support, 100%, no matter what.
Despite the reasons behind this saga, if Carlos was motivated by money, if he had a venomous snake whispering sweet nothings in his ear, if he isn't happy or if he genuinely misses his family, those are his problems. Whether you think he's leaving in the summer, or if you stand by your views of him being greedy and wanting more money is besides the point. When he puts on the shirt tonight, he should have the unconditional support of every blue around the world.
That's what supporting your team is about, so go on Carlos, bag us a win and lets make history together.

OK, so City were trying to tempt Rooney, but United manged to buy Rooney's commitment.
Most/Some of the media presented this as Rooney turning down City.
Now, City decide to play the media, by having 'someone' claim Tevez has been offered to United (as reported in various press outlets yesterday).
Now, a couple of hours before the match Tevez commits his future to the Blues.
Will we see any 'Tevez snubs United' or 'Tevez says I would never return to United' headlines ? ......

I still don't really understand what's gone on here but the news that Tevez is staying and NOT getting an improved contract is a huge coup for the club. It shows that we aren't going to be taken for a ride by players and that people will only leave when it suits us.

I would guess that we've agreed if the summer comes around and he's still of a mind to leave, we'll grant it to him without drama.
In the meantime, it will remain a secret to help the club.
