Media bias against City

Just had an argument with A Gooner at work , he thinks Ozil is worth £49m and Sterling isn't, I basically said, no player is really worth that amount, but as I wasn't paying, it didn't matter, then he went on about £60m on KDB, reported on SSN, I tried to explain to him about reported and actual fact, and that it's in the interest of Sky Sports to "embellish truth" and keep on feeding their core viewers with the information and content, in the form of click-bait, that will keep them coming back, and seeing as the whole of SS / TalkShite and virtually every media outlet has had a pop or 3 against City recently, the common view is that it's City "Ruining Football" AGAIN time, and that City are the BIG BAD WOLF of the Prem again, so UTD, LIVERPOOL, ARSENAL, CHELSEA, VILLA fans will love any article that paints City in a negative light= more revenue for Sky.

I obviously try to fight our corner, my son now 6, was indoctrinated at Birth ( before my UTD, LIVERPOOL, CHELSEA in-laws got their evil claws out!!!) and I've explained in the best way I can, City's way, why Aguero doesn't dive and cheat like Rooney ( or any other UTD players) or Chelsea's players ( Costa, etc..)

I've stopped having these type of arguments / discussions with people. I now just embrace that we are ruining football and destroying the ethics clearly shown by gooners, rags, dippers and chavs. I enjoy much more winding them up and not pandering to their needy conversations.

The reason we are paying £60 million for a player (if we are) is because we can. If it was Liverpool, Rags, Arsenal or Chelsea no one would make an issue of it. For some reason City are supposed to restrict themselves to paying less than the club can afford, so as not to be 'rude'. It's the club's money, or the Sheikh's money, they know what they're doing, and it's no one else's business.

Regarding the digital changes referred to by several posts today, right on cue comes this news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33636321

The reason to sell to a specialist media company (Nikkei) is encapsulated here:

"Pearson has been a proud proprietor of the FT for nearly 60 years. But we've reached an inflection point in media, driven by the explosive growth of mobile and social", said Pearson's chief executive John Fallon.

"In this new environment, the best way to ensure the FT's journalistic and commercial success is for it to be part of a global, digital news company," he continued.

Article worth a full read but the FT is one of the few newspapers that just reports news in its news columns then has its own views under different tabs. Unlike the others who deliberately confuse the two mixing skewed views with news.

Cast your minds back to when the rags signed Owen.
At the same time, we signed Viera.
Owen ="great piece of business, a masterstroke by fergie "
Viera ="nah, not for me, he's finished now, terrible move "
From that renowned sage and oracle of all things footie related, Paul Merson.

The same programme also had a certain ex arse striker claiming Aguero would be a total flop and a waste of money.

This is what thay said:

Best new signing

Only Sky asked this question but Jeff Stelling said Shay Given, Matt le Tissier went for Aguero, Paul Merson said Villa's Charles N'Zogbia, Phil Thompson went for Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam and Charlie Nicholas said David de Gea.

Charlie Nicholas also said that Sergio Aguero would be the worst signing and wasn't worth his transfer fee.
