Media bias against City

Is it us or them? BBC polled around 30 of their pundits and commentators and thy have Chelsea as Champions. OK not too bothered with that seeing as they won o easily last season, but they have City 4th, behind Utd who are a mess. Conclusive proof of bias in my eyes. How can a team that has finished 1st,2nd,1st and then 2nd be rated that way particularly when City and Utd have gone in opposite directions over the Summer?
Also did you see Dion Dublins prediction rags champions and us outside top 4 lol.

The majority of these guys are just mainstream commentators though. It's not just ex-rags in the media, or Liverpool fans.

I wonder how many of these ex players now pundits pissed their wages up the wall and now sell their punditry like whores and will say what the media want for the right price?

I'm amazed at this too. I do still expect Chelsea to complete a deal for Stones, but their defence as good as it was last year, has no depth. Surely Terry won't go a season injury and suspension free again, and where's the back up for Ivanovic and Azpilacueta? It just seems fashionable to choose Chelsea as winners. We'll see.

Dvaid James not being bias, but talking shite!(didn't want to start a new thread)

Some absolute crackers. Seriously, I don't understand how these so called 'expert's' can get it so wrong, and in the process pick up thousands of pounds in salaries in the process. The mind boggles.

I can't be arsed going over his highlight remarks again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I generally think Man City of the top four are the weak link," said BT Sport commentator James, who played 93 league games for City from 2004 to 2006.

"Man City, again, they have got all this talent, they have won the title twice [in 2011-12 and 2013-14] - or rather tripped over the line twice.

"Look at Chelsea last season. The title was won in November. If Arsenal had started better, I think Chelsea would have carried on longer just to win the league by 10, 15 points, whatever.

"I don't see the Man City model being right, just spending loads of money and acquiring players. It isn't necessarily the model of continued success. I have seen changes elsewhere and at the moment I am not seeing that at Man City. It is just spend a bit more and expect success."

James has predicted Liverpool, where he made his name during the 1990s, to replace City in the top four.

"I am not one of the owners but if you look at the whole business model there is a flaw somewhere and, at the moment, they might think it is at the coaching level," the 45-year-old added.

"I think this is the season of the coach. I think with the new coaches they have a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League at the expense of Man City."

I always said James was a shite overrated goalkeeper. You can all witness how crap he is at punditry, trouble is he's miles better at that than goal keeping.

I never can understand why City fans rated him so highly. **shakes head and walks away**

had a good laugh on the way to work today at the BBC pundit predictions, Chris Waddle the only one with his head screwed on haha

Anti city ex players in full force! wouldn't trust 2 bankrupt wankers, and danny coneheads opinion on anything anyway.

If, as I'm hoping, Kelichi comes out of nowhere and takes the prem by storm this season, I would then expect the same breathless coverage that other newcomers have had. Who could forget the the new Paul Scholes (Cleverley), the new Ryan Giggs (jizzyjazz) and of course, the new Duncan Edwards (Jones)?

They're about to sign Baba Rahman -very promising LB we were linked with.

I actually think their defence has a nice balance to it at the moment. 3 CB's who could all start without it being a problem and 3 fullbacks. If Azpilicueta gets injured, put in the new LB, If Ivanovic gets injured, put Azpilicueta there instead. It seems a better way to go about it than us having Sagna play half a dozen games a season, but they can only manage it because Azpilicueta can play both sides.

They could probably do with a 4th CB, but like you said, Stones looks to be on his way eventually.

I don't mind people predicting a Chelsea win, it's the idea we'll drop out of the top 4 that gets me.
