Media bias against City

Anyone remember when the mirror printed a blue edition ie no red top a blue top, after the playoff final? That was brilliant.

Or perhaps I dreamt it. Not exactly sure what my point is, but if it mattered what they printed back then, then it still matters now, i think.

Nearly right... It was the later Monday Northern editions of the S*n for the 1999 play off final... The Mirror hardly mentioned the game at all, certainly nothing on the back page

Ah right thanks. Remember putting it up on the wall at work. Good day that, more than made up for the miserable week previous.

Anyways, about mcmanaman's commentary I thought he had some good points to make, but the levels of incredulity he found were more like that annoying fella who sits behind you at the match/pub than a pro pundit.

He just needed to calm down.

which points were them ? never stopped slagging us off throughout, wanted our goal disallowed straight away made a point of it before it hit the back of the net , yayas great shot that buffon saved " it was going wide anyway" (which it wasnt ) , at various points "city need to speed things up then changed to "city need to keep hold of the ball and slow things down" , never stopped going on about how quiet it was.....absolute shite commentary choice and I thought m07 was bad ffs

His commentary was about how Juve were physically superior to us and we were being out fought then when Kompany scored he spent the rest of the match saying it was a foul...how about getting behind the English teams eh Mr McPointyman. If there was a poll..........

The points that centred around the idea that we were playing to juventus's strengths. Unintentionally of course, but Juve did look fairly comfortable. We were giving them plenty of space on the ball, and they in turn seemed happy to let us pass it around on the understanding we would have only a handful of chances against one of the finest goalkeepers on the planet. Particularly as we were missing our world class striker, heaping more pressure on front playing players that are already well known for not being the best finishers over the last several months.

Still, my opinion is mcmanaman was too eager to take a stance against us, and his companion also seemed to enjoy it far too much. So my point stands - he had some good points to make but the delivery and timing did seem to demonstrate a certain dislike for us.

So bias is ok as long as it's in our favour? Well done by the way in cherry picking some poor points he made whilst ignoring anything he said that might have been on the button. There's no pundit you'll agree with 100%. Our goal did look a foul, and like I've said a couple of times, I agree the delivery was poor.

Its not selective hearing I would just like to hear an unbiased account of the game , whats happening , who has the ball ect ect , not someones biased opinion , I can accept " was that a foul ? Id have to see that again , Im not sure" to mcmanamans version... "that was a foul ! , oh dear that should not stand it was a definate foul"
Yaya " what a strike ! that would have been some goal , fantastic save from buffon " ................ mcmanaman " that was going wide anyway"
Too fecking right I dont 100% agree with him

McManaman and Fletcher took football commentary to its most trivial of levels last night.
Fucking amateurish doesn't cover it. I can't believe that I used to get pissed off by the likes of Brian Moore and Gerald Sindstadt and not to mention Motty bleeding Moston.
By the by, Fletcher, for all those that don't know is a fully fledged rag turd,

Wasn't cherry picking. Was all the way through. The point I was making was that if the Juve defender was as physical as Pointy was trying to make out he would have dealt with Kompanys strength. It just seemed contradictory that's all. Why didn't he say that it could have been defended better if they they were as superior as he claimed they were.
