Man Utd exit champions league in the main feature

Wouldn't argue about the empty seats bit, it was shocking tonight. Christ, if it wasn't for the Moenchengladbach fans half the third tier would have been empty as well!

Who cares apart from BT sport and rags?

Empty seats at most grounds yet it's only ever a talking point with us!

To be fair Scums downfall is the big story. Love it.

Almost certain someone at BT had a word at half time, the first half commentary was ludicrous.

I've been through enough to think that 42000 is a good crowd. Even if some of them weren't there.

At the end of the united match, on BT, the comments were all about United being a young side, with an average age of 24. The excuses were primed and ready.

If that had been us, with a net spend of £250m, leaving what was generally considered to be an easy group, we would have been castigated.

I've given up on the BT commentary but it's fun playing count the cliche...
What fans these Germans are but city are very quiet...
Lots of empty seats, you just get the impression that city fans are not embracing the competition....
He has to do better than that in front of goal based on what he cost....
Those centre backs cost numpty million and they are a big problem....
They can't play without Vincent....
This is a very unbalanced squad....
Whoever allowed only Bony to cover for Aguero is not doing their job....

And as for Trevor Francis, if brains were dynamite, he wouldn't have enough to blow his nose.

Mail online app, we are the 28th story down. Id normally revel in scums discomfort but do we really rank below 19 utd stories 2 on fury a flurry of chavs and arse and some woman called rousey?

I put Sky Sports on this morning as background noise, between 7am and 7.30am not a sniff about us going through as group winners, same with Talk Sport this morning on the way tp work 20 min car journey, it was all utd this, and Arsenal tonight that.

You admit not only reading the fail, but downloading their app?
Hehe.

To be fair a United fan rang up the Sports Bar last night and was going on "Cundy, we've not spent £250m, we've got a net spend of £130m" to which the Goldstein laughed and said "come on mate, that's just garbage". and the show was just ripping into United.

All the media seem to be going on about, is the rags failing to reach the knockout stages.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but that is exactly what i thought they did. They played shite in a poor group and consequently reached the stage where they were knocked out!

They will soon start praising and wanking to us when they realise we are the only English team still in the Champions League.

Barely seen any praise of us finishing top of our group above last year's finalists, the Europa League winners plus the team who thrashed Bayern at the weekend.

That was a seriously tough group and we deserve a hell of a lot of praise for topping it.

Ah, but TurtleHead sez their group was just a stinker. A veritable group of impending doom.

ToryGraph this morning offers us a miserly 240 column inches on MANUre's route to the Europa League whilst, topping the group for the first time, we are treated to a staggering 40 column inches!

I was fannying about on Wikipedia this morning, and stupidly followed a link to the list of the most expensive football transfers, and was amazed (not) to see that the City players making the list are quoted with all the add-ons, while the rag martial is not... The fee shown for De Bruyne is quite funny (£54-58million), as none of the references used have any mention of the higher number, and of course, he is ranked based on the higher number!

OK, I know it's only Wikipedia, and any idiot can go in to edit the list, but it just shows how effectively the incessant lies in the media can become "the facts".

If Arsenal end up in the Europa tonight watch the media spin the Europa as a better more competitive competition than Champs league

A great achievement in topping the group of death but we'd qualified weeks ago. The real big news last night was the rags losing and going out of a piss easy group. If Arsenal and Chelsea also go out the focus will be on English clubs failure in Europe and the possible lose of the fourth CL spot. There is media bias against us, of course there is, but the story is more the general ineptness of PL teams in this competition in recent seasons.
