Media bias for FourFourTwo

Interesting that BBC Sport have a piece on "Man City lose to Bayern in Guardiola's first game in charge" on the main page. I don't recall seeing the headline "Chelsea lose to Rapid Vienna in Conte's first game in charge"?
To be fair, why would a team that barely scraped into the top 10, be newsworthy? As for the City headline, it's 100% correct.

I can live with we lose to Munich being a headline, top teams in name rather than players on the pitch last night, ex manager etc.

Maybe we should have played Chadderton reserves first game then we could have had the PEG style wankathon with a winning start.

Also, the scum's 4-1 defeat to Dortmund is neatly tucked away out of sight.

Mods please merge if you feel its warranted (and sorry for the mither if so)

I've been asked by FourFourTwo to write about the media bias against City. Got the BT Sport and BBC angle nailed down but opening it up for newspaper bias.

Won't be able to name individual journalists but any stories that have particularly stood out in recent times? Any newspapers that are worst offenders than others?

All contributions welcome. Promised them it wont be 'ranty' but have free reign apart from that and really want to put together a persuasive case to illustrate the snidey crap we have to put up with.

Probably a bit late now but this may interest you mate.

According to the radio this morning.........Manchester United's friendly against Manchester City has been cancelled!!

Didn't' realise it belonged to them

I made the mistake of listening to a BBC 5 live podcast entitled 'Mourinho v Pep rivalry taking over English football?'. 17 minutes long and all 17 minutes about the Rags. You could not make it up

Just reading 'Blue Moon Rising' and had my old memory cells jogged to a point nearly 20 years ago.

City had been going through the divisions and managers like a dose of salts but still Maine Road withthe rickety uncovered 'Gene Kelly' stand regularly had 30000 plus as they laboured in mid table of the old third division but just before Christmas fans were not keen on the world famous Auto Windshields Trophy in awful weather. Only 3000 of us turned up and we were all herded into one stand (the Kippax I think). The Daily Mirror had a huge pic of one of the unused stands taking the piss out of us fans but with no mention of the full houses we got in the league and they played down all the other factors, weather, Christmas - Auto Windshields FFS!!

So the sort of shite we get now is not new, it is just more widespread. Now the Telegraph regularly uses a picture of a block at the Etihad with four blokes and three kids standing drinking coffee at a youth match ages before kick off. But the image of the empty seats is the one sold to and accepted by many. City wage thieves like McManaman make stupid comments to anyone watching that the seats are empty at ECL matches, but half an hour before the kick off I am finishing my last pint in the pub before walking down the New Road because no drink is allowed in the ground for normal fans.

I have seen many mobile pics of United matches this season in cup competitions one taken by a Boro fan at the match showing huge areas of empty seats as the teams were actually playing but none of these empty seats pics or any comments about the low crowds appear in the media.

If there is no 'agenda' against City, why do they do it to us and no one else? And empty seats is just one topic where they do it.

Expecting us to get a fair press from these twats is like expecting the Daily Mail to say that Jeremy Corbyn is a great chap and should be PM.
All these media outlets do have an agenda, unfortunately. I can't think where you would go to get unbiased reporting of anything, let alone City.

So, what's all this got to do with that FourFourTwo article?

Just to prove that fans of other clubs really do buy-in to the nonsense...

I was on the beach this weekend up here in the North East, and got talking to a Boro fan, who saw my City t-shirt and asked about my expectations for the season. I told him I was cautiously optimistic, but he then went on to say he wasn't all that impressed with Pep, as he had always inherited a successful team: "Barcelona already were the best team in Europe and he inherited a team of superstars who had already won the Champions League"....

There's always one smart arse in the house....
Well it was a thread about a good article written by a City fan in a reputable footy magazine that's descended into yet another pathetic cry-baby "nobody likes us" thread.

You do know that all Boro fans are also utd fans.

that is so true.
i forgot the reason i hate boro so much..you,ve just reminded me!!
2nd reason(there are a plethora of other reasons) is that ive never ever had a decent drink up there. The town is a shithole, and being on the piss in the centre is as depressing as hell.
the fact that they always seem to beat us,home and away,is of course nothing to do with it whatsoever!
