Who is His Highness?
Possibly the must simplistic anology I could think of for a simpleton like harris, say if HRH William decides to buy villa his club and they ditch 32 red ad unethical gambling and Windsor castle Ltd take over,if villa got hacked and an email referred to if Windsor castle can’t pay their contractual obligations to villa then hm will cover to save potential brand pr damage, would hm refer to William protecting villa of her majesty protesting the image of Windsor. We as brits know hm would only refer to the queen not William, we as a society do not know naming conventions within the uae and the press have fed bullshit the uneducated masses.

Yes, this. In my ham - fisted way, this was point. Well aware we are not owned by a country, and that even if we were "owned" by Abu Dhabi's highest powers that our owner is not sat there dictating policy or starting wars, and that Khaldoon had been handed responsibility to run show anyway. And most importantly, i don't care about journalists any more. But the perception of our owners in wider world of fans rankles and must upset our owners. Am surprised too they have not said more on matter.

Khaldoon has said repeatedly that the purchase of City was based on the need to help Abu Dhabi to diversify its economy so it is less reliant on oil. Like all the Gulf states Abu Dhabi has to re-invent itself as fossil fuels decline. The worldwide strategy is to invest in sport and leisure, tech and innovation, finance and property, and education and research sectors. The CFG is just one alement of this huge strategy. So far Sheik Mansour has made billions out of his investment in the Manchester area. He has doubled the value of his original investment in City alone (he got his initial outlay back just on selling 13 per cent to the Chinese consortium). The UK media know this full well but choose not to report it. The concept of so-called "sportswashing" is just a fabrication. I am sure the Sheikh and the rest of the key players in Abu Dhabi want to promote their region in a positive light...that's natural. But commercial reasons are the main driver.
