Our pundits should have been pigging out on giant size portions of humble pie for years. Raheem is exactly the kind of example and role model that everyone has been demanding from the game ever since the birth of the PL. For all his life he has had the support and love of his mother and and he is a member of a very loving family. As his career has progressed he has shown his dedication to his family in ways which the press has chosen to present as the actions of a footballer who lacks professional commitment and dedication. Yet his attitude allied to considerable natural talent and a determination to learn and improve are just what has made him one of the best and most exciting players in Europe. He has improved in every season since he arrived at City but this improvement has been accompanied by negative comments in the media which betray a total lack of sincerity and fairmindedness. Much of the criticism has unpleasantly racist overtones as in the dreadful scenes at Stamford Bridge. Raheem NEVER accepts this abuse and always speaks out against it but does so with a quiet dignity which is quite inspiring. He is a strong and intelligent character with very sound moral values and it is these which make his critics look like the intellectual and moral Liliputians they are. Last night simply forced the whole country (with two exceptions!) to see just how invaluable he is.
Sums it up perfectly! That should have been printed by all the newspapers as an apology from them to the lad.
