The whole narrative yesterday was David v Goliath. It was like we were playing a non-league team not PL champions from 2 seasons ago.
I suppose we should take it as a compliment.
This. I could not believe the narrative. It’s in the print media too. If you listened to the match or read a report of it you would think it was City v Newport. I don’t even think Chelsea had a shot on target all game and were soundly beaten in the possession stats. We may not have been our usual self, but we were better than Chelsea. A Chelsea outfit with many multi million pound players out there too.

did we actually win yesterday?
just got back today and watched sky sports but no mention of us winning at all?
had talk sport on this aftrnoon...no mention of us
Well if you just read the headlines on the back pages of the tabloids you wouldn't know.

Check your facts and do your own research before posting nonsense.
And get yerself a copy of Doyles autobiography .read it.and...check Citys history from the relevant years.......then come back to me jmmy grim.

Read the biography and know enough about most era's of City since 1965 ,but all you do is nicely pick out all the negatives , why a "supporter" would want to come on here and besmirch a club icon , 50 years after the event only questions your support for the club , its not necessary , but i am sure if you dig deep enough you could find shit on Bell,Lee and Summerbee , the only nonsense and bile is coming from your keyboard.

Defender-passes back to keeper-keeper waits for pressure-keeper picks up ball-keeper waits for pressure to drop-keeper puts down ball-keeper passes it to defender-defender-passes back to keeper-keeper waits for pressure-keeper picks up ball-keeper waits for pressure to drop-keeper puts down ball-keeper passes it to defender-defender-passes back to keeper-keeper waits for pressure-keeper picks up ball-keeper waits for pressure to drop-keeper puts down ball-keeper passes it to defender-defender-passes back to keeper-keeper waits for pressure-keeper picks up ball-keeper waits for pressure to drop-keeper puts down ball-keeper passes it to defender...
Superb post.spot on.

I wasnt replying to you pal.
The issue was.Mick Doyle hated utd.
1.he was almost certainly a red as a kid.
2.he wanted to join the champions of england mid(utd) mid way thru the 1967/68 season.
3.his son is a red.
You called me out for making things up.you now accept i didnt make it up,and neatly shift the goal posts to saying i have picked things out of Doyles book(his own words) and attempted to besmirch a club icon...lol..by quoting the icons very own words??

Give your head a wobble pal. This is about facts.you may not like the truth,as supported by the players own words, and by history, but for you to move to telling me i,d made it up,as fiction, just makes you look stupid. And ill informed.the only 'fiction' around here pal is your own, precious jimmy grimble.
Now jog on.

Had anyone looked at the front page of the DT sports section yesterday there wasn't the faintest idea who CFC had played. Not a word, a picture, no graphic, nothing. But the banner still had room for a wee piccy and trailer for a Swamp Donkey article. In the words of a Sunderland taxi driver describing a different publication of the RDAHMeedya "Tory bastards"!

You're boring our tits off now pal, give it a rest.

Pundits all over the media defending Pooch and attacking Mike Dean.

No bias...

Stupid behaviour from Poch at the end of that game V Burnley. Don’t know what he hoped to achieve by confronting Dean at the end of the game. It was just a deflection from his teams inadequate performance. He rightly deserves what awaits.

His dad was copper , and he was a blue along with Doyle , the transfer talk to the Rags was years later , his son might be a Rag , (glad his grandson plays for City) , so get your facts right before becoming high and mighty with your inaccuracies , and why bring shit like this up on this thread ? .You are avoiding the real problem , why do you have to post crap about one of the finest players to play for this club . What is your reason for doing this ? Are you f*cking bored or have you got nothing else to do?

Chelsea were the better side, it's official, had the most chances, disallowed goal, it was all going well...until!!!

That's the beauty of sport, guff blows away but the fact remains, we have the cup...

and they have fuck all.

Richard Wright proper fell on his feet didn’t he?

I seem to be entertaining your life at the moment jimmy jimmy....
Your telling me"get your facts right".....this next bit might be a bit painful for you son,but its the truth, quoted from our ex Captains own mouth...

"When i was a nipper,i leaned towards Manchester United rather than towards Manchester City"

Thats from Our ex captains book.."Manchester City.My Team"....chapter 4. Page 38.Copyright 1977.Mike Doyle.

Now you have been educated....i,ll admit..that i did make a mistake, from memory ,re the timing ofDoyles wish to join utd...a quick flick thru my book tells me that it was actually Frank o Farrell(who incidently scored on his debut for Preston north end, against Manchester City, playing alongside the great Tom Finney) and not Matt Busby that Doyle spoke to,when he wanted to leave City and join utd.

Ive already said, quite clearly, that Doyle was a magnificent player for us.without question....i,m just putting you right on the Doyle hated utd mantra

"The next day,i told Frank O Farrell that he,d got himself a new player..i asked him Do you want me to come tomorrow to sign?"(chapter4 page 44)

Regardless of what you think about me for highlighting this part of our history, i,m pretty sure you can now agree that Doyle was a red as a lad,and he wanted to leave City to join utd at one point in his careeer.
Can we agree on these two FACTS,jimmy grimble.....given that they come from our ex captains mouth.
And...no point trying to make out i,m not a Blue.ive slept with this book ,by my bedside, for over 30 years.Manchester City.My Team..purchased from an old book shop on Oxford rd Manchester,1987...You,d struggle to find a copy now of this slice of brutal reality Jimmy,i guess you could always console yourself with fantasy and fiction.
