I used to run an Engineering Help Desk of about 25 people for a company called Alphameric, we installed and maintained EPOS systems mainly to betting shops but also Abbey National and Reuters News Agency.I suppose it all depends on the quality of the other candidates as his defence is purely based on comparing his LinkedIn profile with that of the successful applicant which may or may not be accurate. I’ve been turned down, or not even invited to interview, for many roles down the years despite having the perfect match for an advertised job. Sometimes the role changes once CVs are received too. If they’ve selected candidates from a diverse range then I doubt he’ll be successful and I’m not sure what he could claim anyway, surely he wouldn’t want the job now. Weird world we live in now, though, very litigious.
If we ever had an application that said “I support/follow Man United” it went straight in the bin and I couldn’t even be arsed replying to them.
