Revenue sharing? Transfer fees based on revenue? Protected players and players able to be poached each season?

The answers all seem quite unpalatable to most, because those that strive to achieve (and do so!) are “punished” by the socialistic aspects of creating an “even playing field” every season.

There is a thought that some revenues should be shared and some revenues are within the purview of the club and their ability to self-generate revenue, and should thus be shielded from any sharing process.

Some might say this almost mirrors what we have today, so what does one change to create greater “equality”?

Is equality of revenues even a worthwhile, achievable goal???

So many questions!!!

And that is the problem isn't it? Every pundit, journalist and other know-nowt is beginning to ask the right questions, but nobody knows what the answers are.

At the end of the day, football is a competitive business within a league, within an association, within a country, within a confederation and, finally, globally. The answer to financial regulation has to allow this competition (in a business sense) and, at least in Europe, comply with competition and monopoly laws, whilst balancing all that against the European Sports Model of governing bodies, national associations, grass roots football, fan and community protection, sporting fairness and meritocracy.

It isn't easy and I am glad I don't have to do it :)

Ffp this, ffp that, its just a thing to hide behind for mismanaged clubs, utd have spent a billion got fuck all to show for it, liverpool 800m 1 pl title and a couple of cups basically same as leicester, arsenal 700m and one fail in the title race, newcastle to have spent plenty and same goes, their argument is that they have injuries and cant go and buy a shiny new toy to replace the injured player but the question has to be asked what happens to the shiny new toy when the other player is fit again.

Bottom line is you can spend what you like but you can only have a team of 11 and a squad of 25 and do you really think you are gonna get a squad of 25 100m players and 8 of them are going to be happy to sit on the bench week in week out and 7 of them will be content to not play at all, its just not going to happen, ffp is a cute little shield that clubs will hide behind for poor overall management which is just as important as blowing billions on shiny new toys every week and they know it but thats football these days its just fans and clubs making excuse after excuse and trying to drag others down instead of looking to improve themselves and yes i know in the past the richest always won from arsenal at the beginning of the league to liverpool in the 80s and the rags in the 90s but that was then and this is now, now everybody has money and its not the deciding factor, how u manage and spend it is just as important as having it.

Whether the questions are right or wrong, they should have asked them 30 years ago when united were dominating financially.

Interesting that the two most successful clubs in English football in the the rags and Liverpool have only won two league titles between them in the ffp era. The majority of their trophies were won when you could spend as much as you like, yet their clingers on like to lecture us about Citys spending. Would they have had all those trophies if the financial fair play rules were in place during their dominance? I doubt it.

Samarrai comes up with an idea (excuse) for every letter in the alphabet.

He's getting absolutely slated in the comments section.

Football journalism really is on it's arse.

Just checking, it is a Saturday morning?
Fair enough, only two Premier League games today, so I don't know now BBC Breakfast sports only managed to mention last night's game (and another VAR cock up) and the "local" meeting in the West London, before talking about the minor sports !
So Newcastle v City not even worth a mention !

Made a comment regarding the Burnley Luton game on the Telegraph website last night. All I said was that if Burnley wore an all red strip the goal wouldn't have stood. The comment was pulled!
Vinny was interviewed afterwards and said the incident will probably attract maybe one or two lines in the media than it will be quickly forgotten and they will go back to talking about the Rags and Dippers.

He was as angry as I’ve seen him and even accidentally knocked his microphone over at one point, well said Vincent.
