For Blues of a certain vintage, there has been no supporter experience remotely like it in world sport. And none so interesting. At least to the best of my knowledge. It’s been one hell of a ride; all of it.

The sad thing is that 60 years ago when those blues were born, it actually wasn’t that uncommon for a team to languish for a bit, get relegated, get promoted and win titles and go to Europe across a decade or 2.
