I do love the constant talk about "2 players in every position" that came with Ortega's performance last night. Every team in the league has a squad of players. We've spent a lot of money but others have spent more. The truth is that Pep uses his squad over the course of the season in order to ensure people are fit and firing at this time of the year, and everyone is mentally ready to do what it takes. Arsenal have signed plenty of players, and through good fortune they've not had too many injuries. But they were literally swapping keeper every other game at the start of the season, so it's not particularly noteworthy we've got someone on the bench who can also do a job.
One of them being Brentford's GK unable to buy because of PSR so hes on loan, isnt that a loophole

Incidently if we do a quad that's equivalent to 2 trebles on the bounce - 1st 3 years and last 3 years.

The 2 players in every position thing is a load of rubbish. The biggest evolution by Pep is how he has brought in players who can play anywhere. Other teams wouldn't trust a central defender to play at left back for example but Pep has played this whole season without a proper left back like Walker is at right back.

We still haven't bought a replacement left back for Cancelo but nobody would notice as Gvardiola has settled in and anyone out of Ake, Akanji, Lewis or even Stones can play there.

‘Naturally most of this belonged in the realm of online silliness, and soon enough pre-game ambivalence gave way to a thrumming, relentless opening, a kind of Total Angeball: four midfielders, two wingers, no strikers, the kind of lineup Pep Guardiola used to put out when he still had ideals.”

Fucking hell, which completely neutral, fair and balanced “journalist” published that drivel?
