I wonder if they would have done something similar if City had won it?

it we had won it when uld already be near the bottom of the page

Had to laugh (again) at the bbc:

Community Shield: Arsenal 'make statement' with victory over Manchester City

Statement win lol. You would think we were playing a lower league team, not one who finished 2nd and have spent over 600 million in a few years.
A team who thanks to the cup finals we played are a few weeks ahead of us in fitness, a team who were only playing by default as they won nothing to get to this game, a team who needed a flucky deflected shot deep into additional added time to score and who until we hugely tired from the 80th minute could hardly get the ball off us
Im not sure what statement they made, the only statement i saw is that we really need the refs help to get anywhere near city, city werent even trying to play at full steam today and it took a penalty shootout to beat us, but thats some statement.

For reference, Leicester had a statement victory in this fixture two years ago. They are now playing in the championship.

How about, Arsenal get lucky by scoring a flukey goal after 12 minutes of unnecessary injury time?
It’s the BBC, they’re supposed to be neutral - and are subject to frequent complaint on here when they’re perceived not to be.
