The City of Manchester stadium cost £115 million to construct for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002. We pay the City council £5.5 million in rent each year, 20 years in the stadium means that the council will have had £110 million from City.

The South stand extension cost £50 million in 2015 and the North stand extension plus hotel will cost £300 million. City have paid more than their fair share than what the initial outlay for the stadium was. What was Herbert expecting to happen with the City Of Manchester stadium? It gets built and used for athletics maybe once or twice a year and that’s it? That’s how venues like the Don Valley stadium now don’t exist.
Sure it was reported without city taking over stadium games may not have happened

It’s exactly what myself and another poster just said.

You can’t tell me that if we hadn’t got taken over, but Newcastle had and has all what we’ve had since then, that there wouldn’t be Blues calling them cheating cunts. Of course there would. Rational thinking goes out the window.
I remember being quite happy for Chelsea when they got investment and started competing with the red shirts, and so did most people I know. They certainly didn't get the media abuse we get and I just wished we could spend spend a quarter of what they did on players, I even cheered them in against the rags and Munich in their CL finals. Wanting them to fail because we couldn't compete never came into it.

This headline is all you need to know about the football media in this country.

The seven PL clubs that blocked the proposed ban. Rather than the seven PL clubs that decided they didn’t want the ban.

Then followed by.

Saudi-owned Sheffield United and Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City were two of the seven clubs who voted against the 'related-party loans' ban.

The other clubs.

The other five teams were: Chelsea, Newcastle, Wolves, Everton and Nottingham Forest. The majority of the seven teams are part of multi-club empires.
Why do we need to know how many stars the hotel had?

Has any team or even any sporting organisation ever received so much pure hatred in the history of sport? It’s constant now and will be ramped up ten fold this weekend! We’ll see banners in stadiums fans chanting what about city. And all the media hacks and pundits will play their part aswell I’m sure. It’s getting to the point where I can’t look on my phone. Couple of scrolls down the screen and there’s some fucking idiot slagging off our club. The media in this country are a disgrace! No honest reporting apart from Martin Samuel. Just a bunch of pathetic little arse wipes printing what they want to happen and passing it off as fact and calling themselves experts. I’ve had to sell my ticket for Saturday because I’ve broken 3 bones in my foot at work. Anyone sat near the press box please give the maggots some shit for me enough is enough. All this shite + var is just sucking the joy of out the game I love. It’s just fucking endless!
Success breeds jealousy breeds hatred. At the hight of the rags success " stand up if you hate Man U" was roared out at England internatiionals, test matchs at OT and Headingly and many games where the rags werent playing. United players on England duty were routinely booed. The difference was while football fans hated them the media was right up their arses. It amazes me how little hate there is for us out there apart from the gruesome twosome who still have a vast amount of bile for each other. The media are certainly doing the best to stoke hate towards us, but it seems to wprk more with armchair fans and keyboard warriors then genuine football fans.

tah, wonder what I was staring at then hhaa
Owlerton Greyhound track possibly? It’s on a complex next to Napoleons Casino but probably 4/5 miles away from the old Don Valley Stadium. The greyhounds on the outside kind of give it away but if you were pissed?

I agree with you, to an extent, on the amount of vitriol to City from proper, opposing match going fans.
But, the 10 point deduction given to Everton seems to have amplified the abuse, even hatred towards City.
This has been skewed, by the media, into an introductory-level points deduction (at the very least) in comparison to the upcoming City and Chelsea cases.
If City or Chelsea just get a fine, there will a massive outcry from initially, the media. This will almost certainly filter down to the vast majority of opposing fans, because the media have already given their "expert" verdict.
Everton, a club who I used to admire, will lead this demand for City & Chelsea to be given a harsher sentence.
Also backed by the clubs (mainly Red Shirts) who have been crushed by City & Chelsea...

The games would have happened but they would have built a temporary one Maybe then City wouldn't have been taken over by Mansour and the district would still be a very deprived area instead of having been much improved with the stadium, CFG, MIH, 6th Form College and Leisure Centre having been built and generation of hundreds of job by the despicable "oil money"
