What a gobshite. As unpalatable as Redknapp is, he didn't dump his wife for his daughter's mate.
It’s getting personal.
Big Steve v (Brent)Mark Goldbridge.
Wait, Whaaat...???tbf, ‘Big Steve’ isn’t his real name either!
Yes of course context of life back then is important, you’re right. But life, culture and our societal thinking has moved on a lot sad it’s only 30-40 years ago we’re talking about so not sure why you can’t now agree with me. Plenty of us back then thought he was appalling on the whole with some funny things but nowhere near enough to compensate for how uncomfortable any black/brown people feltBollocks .....everything in context of the times.
I'm not aware of anyone leaving the Embassy in protest, but I saw hundreds waiting to get in !!
Is it Big Brian?tbf, ‘Big Steve’ isn’t his real name either!
I don’t expect the word ‘Big’ features anywhere. Is it Big Brian?
I don’t mind Redknapp either and he’s always very complimentary towards us and talks sense about football without being biased.I’ve never got the hate for Redknapp and was once told a story by a mother who had a pram in a lift at Albert Dock towards the end of the Spice Boys era who shared it with Redknapp, Fowler, Macateer and McManaman - and only one of them helped her out when she was struggling to get out at her floor.
Might not represent a great deal, but it’s always stuck in my mind.
