It was Coventry and the replay was January 1974. We won 4-2.
I was at this game just after the Miners Strike had ended, supposed to be at school and my Dad spotted me and my mate on the BBC local news, he just pissed himself laughing according to my Mum but I got a right bollocking initially.

I recall a match or two being played on a mid-week afternoon. This was due to a work-to-rule by the coal miners (or the electrical union?) and the Government were trying to cut electricity consumption.

I thought it was earlier than 1975 as I was at Manchester University from 1971-74 and wouldn’t have been able to get away to a football match on a midweek afternoon in 1975. It was certainly aimed a Conservative Government and they were defeated in February 1974.

I can’t remember who City played. I do recall a bomb scare during a match where everyone was asked to look under their seat for a bomb before play resumed!
I've just posted a copy of the programme, 1st March just after the Miners strike ended, 3pm kick off on a Wednesday.

That will be Rory Smith he likes to come across as all knowledgeable

He comes across as a bitter dipper shill. I noticed he stayed quiet when Sutton was joking about supporting more than 1 club….. I can’t imagine growing up in Harrogate the Dippers were the first club for him.

For those that haven't seen it, Amorin was conducting a press conference in Portugese.
This ignorant baboon demanded he spoke English and refused to shut up.

Forget for a moment this is football. This idiot highlights why Europeans think we are ignorant. How dare a Portigese man speak Portuguese in of all places, Portugal.

We had an Empire.
So did they.
Good to see that Slimy Simon the Toad is in Lisbon to start rimming Amorim.
"Toad in the Hole"...

John Cross on Sky last night, who is put forward as a serious football journalist, was eulogising about Amorin, not for his tactical acumen or formations, but because he is good fun in press conferences and has some great sound bites. Perhaps we should hire Jason Manford when Pep leaves, if that is the measure of a great appointment. Just pitiful.

We used to have Eddie Large on the bench, does that count?
