The comment he makes about us being run by a despot are actionable (probably because he knows he could get away with it on a Liverpool podcast). I understand why taking legal action is not viable, but where exactly is the line that cannot be crossed before a journalist is no longer allowed at the training ground/stadium? Calling our owner a despot is allowed apparently, even though he isn't even the ruler of Abu Dhabi. So what if he calls him a paedophile next week, would he still be allowed in the stadium the following week? Surely the time has come to make an example of one of these weasels?
I agree with this. If City sued every time they would be in court every day which would be counter productive. But there has to be a line somewhere. What Liew said is defamatory of senior people at City. He can’t prove those allegations so would be forced to settle any action. The publisher the Anfield Wrap is also culpable. We should throw the book at him as a warning shot to other snakes in the media.

I wouldn't normally post my Newsletter on here, but am sure a few might like to see the quote from Jonathan Liew near the bottom. No comment required.

Thanks to Jonathan sharing his wisdom with us, I see now that it was shamefully wrong of the club to publicly acknowledge a once in a lifetime achievement like Rodri wining the Balon d'Or. Having an illuminated sign like that on for, erm, three and a half minutes, at a time when many pensioners are struggling to pay their electricity bills, was precisely the kind of gauche error of judgment one has come to expect from the despotic, out of touch, football ruining regime currently.......blah, blah, blah, etc etc.

Perfectly ok to have nostrils Harris calling us cheats from our centre circle for 10 minutes before the game but taking it too far for worlds best player award.

Indeed. The thought of the sad chops on all those spiteful clowns on the Guardian sports desk is starting to become more of a motivational fillip for me, than winning the tribunal would be for the sake of City's own wellbeing!

My thoughts exactly

Soriano is the one who could take action rather than City as a club.

As Chief Executive he could quite easily argue “being run by despots” was a direct accusation that he, personally, is a despot.
