Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

I don’t I’m blaming the player who’s ball falls at their feet when they miss. People claim it’s the other players around him why he isn’t great. They don’t shoot for him. I done my post stating I thought he had a great game. Anyone defending missed chances again need their head testing
The problem is the majority don’t even understand football ,sterling missing chances is frustrating but there’s far far more to his game than being on the pitch to score goals,if that was the case then Southgate would have hooked him after Tunisia or Panama game and started wellbeck or rashford for the other games,it’s football fans with the iq of a peanut that are venting about sterling ...[/QUOTE
Spot on

I was simply responding in kind to your comments. Perhaps I or you should be more tanquilo

If you're wife is a red, you should be anything but tanquilo. Anyway back to Raheem, decent performance today, just needs the rub of the green to have a fantastic performance hopefully the next game.

Spoke with a couple of mates who support the rags (they're decent ones who I can have a reasonable footy conversation with - rare breed I know). First thing they said about today's game was "Sterling - best player on the pitch today"
We all know the qualities he has (and also the areas he needs to brush up on), its just such a shame that so many neutral fans only ever see the negatives in him.
Really wish for him to bag the winning goal in the semi, or even better the final

They would so hate that. They would probably prefer sterling to miss in front of goal which would mean England not winning the world cup rather than for sterling to actually score the goal that wins it for England.

Good to see that more and more are popping up praising him for everything he's doing. I'm not Lineker's biggest fan but he is one of the most prominent figures in British football and him pushing out some support and praise for Sterling to his 7 million followers will change a few minds.

I even popped onto a United forum and found a comment chain full of praise for him, slapping down someone who said he was shit. Twitter seems to be full of people sticking up for him too.

I feel the tide is starting to turn. It's definitely happened regarding the tabloids to the point that the general public just seem to be sick of an anti-sterling story and reject it on principle, and if he were to finally get his goal on wednesday (or the final if it arrives) then he could find that the boo boys disappear and the story of his tournament becomes a really positive one.

Thanks for your sympathetic words, like most United supporters she has been very quiet during last season.
RS is not and never will be a natural finisher, he lacks composure when shooting.
The media criticise that part of his game ignoring his main value that gets him into Peps team never mind Englands.

Hilarious seeing some media outlets feigning confusion as to why Sterling is getting disgusting abuse.

Might have something to do with them starting it all and continuing it ever since he left Liverpool. Horrible hate stirring twats. And yes Gary I include the BBC in that.

The wonderful thing about a world cup is that it gets the whole country together watching. However half of them know f*ck all about the game.
I wouldn’t expect my mum to have a clue about his qualities, so I’m not holding my breath for the halfwitted english public.
Pundits and media write ups are very positive (finally)

There seem to be two things happening now. Amongst the journalists and people who genuinely know something about football the tide seems to be turning at last but the problem there is that there shouldn't have ever been a tide to turn where those people are concerned and actually it was them who have very deliberately started this whole thing and deliberately allowed it to snow ball over the last few years. But at the same time the whole things seems to actually be gaining momentum amongst the once every four years ****s who know absolutely fucking nothing about football. It looks to me like giving Raheem shit has become the latest social media trend - it is the summer 2018 equivalent of pouring a bucket of ice cold water over your head for the idiot generation who are incapable of independent thought.
