find it bizarre they're suddenly all on City player/Dias bandwagon. Kev's record breaking season got less kudos than this, let alone all of Kun's and Dave's over the years.

There's a slow but perceptible sea change taking place, there was the usual bollocks being spouted on Talkshite the other day amongst a group of know nothing numpties, about the fear of money bags City dominating the league. But it was noticeable how it got shot down quite rapidly by a few of the sentient ones comparing us to Utd and Chelsea's history of big spending.

There does come a time when the bullshit piles up, when the stink becomes overwhelming, that folk cry no more bullshit!

just need PIGMOL sorting out. Surprised at the unanimous praise for Dias given it challenges their narrative for their beloved Vigil Van Dijk.

I really think there has been a change in the broader media in the last 12 months. It is almost as if the CAS case lanced the boil. It was a comprehensive de-bunking of the City are state-funded and financially corrupt argument. For anyone who has bothered to read the detailed evidence it was clear that City had been stitched up and the comments from the judges confirmed that.
There is still a small group of hard-core City-haters in the media out there but they are a minority and most of them are not really significant figures, many are freelances who are desperate to make a living. They look increasingly pathetic and out of touch with the mainstream.
Most of us are guilty of highlighting the negative coverage on this forum. But I honestly believe our general coverage has been more positive. Sometimes that makes the fake news narratives stand out even more. One thing i would say is that we are increasingly hated by rival fans....but that's just pure jealousy and fear.

Perhaps media is constrained by editorial policy targeting clicks etc. whereas this allows more actual choice by writers?

A main reason will be that City won the league comfortably, and many of the teams have been a bit flaky.

Over 50% of the vote went to City players - presumably Kane, Salah, Fernandes got much of the rest.

One notable thing is that he's the first defender to win in 32 years - more than the entire PL period, and there have been some good defenders over that time.

Dion Dublin voting for Kasper Schmeichel

I wouldn't expect anything else from that twerp! It might be that Schmeichel Sr voted for Dublin oncer over!!! 'Kinell. How does Dublin earn an income from football punditry?

A free stadium? You wouldn’t catch us doing that.
Liverpool didn't pay a penny towards the construction of Klanfield either. They were gifted it by their first sugar daddy John Houlding.

Yet rags and dippers are the most vocal in condemning City as being given a free stadium. Which of course we weren't.

What? Are you telling me that the erstwhile Dutch painter turned footballer never won it? The greatest Dutchman ever to play in the PL never won it! Jeez, Dippers don't get a fair scratch of player trophies. He's been brilliant this season, hobbling about on his zimmer frame.

First thing I laughed at..... Leicester fan Dion the Donkey voting for Schmeichal.
He is a good keeper withoutba doubt but 2 excellent saves last week in a cup final don't win you an annual award
They do if Dion Deadbeat has the votes. After that bit of nonsense he should be sacked. I think I'll write to the DG and tell him I don't want any of my licence fee goin' to the property magnate.

Last night BBC local news mentioned every North West club that played the previous evening or that were to play in the evening. Even Blackpool winning the first leg of their play off. Nothing at all about City not even about getting beat.
Then they showed Burnley fans milling around Turf Moor and the presenter sang the praises of Burnley being very kind and letting in the small number 'who had braved covid' for free. Not quite as kind as the unmentioned gesture of City paying the travel for fans going to attend the ECL final.

I know, I blame the Belgian bloke. Wars have been caused by less than that.

I was also thinking of Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry, Adams - some seriously good players who held their team together and who didn't win.

BBC news this morning talked about Liverpool's win as if they had beaten Bayern Munich. They appeared to think the whole country would be overjoyed, do they not think anyone watchs their programme in East Lancashire.

Like one red scouse supporting journo who thought the Alisson goal was met throughout the country with the same joy as the winning goal for Leicester in the final. It's unbelievable that these clueless Muppets still think everyone loves the coach wreckers.
