Leeds exposed Man City’s glass jaw - will Borussia Dortmund?

Pep Guardiola’s side have routinely been undone in Europe by the same counter-attacking danger that Leeds posed this weekend

Haha what an idiot, did he not balance that out that the things put in place to stop it ie Ruben Diaz and Rodri who sits in between the centre halves when the full backs go bombing up the pitch were not playing?

The press and media can’t wait for this one tonight, won’t support an English team playing in Europe by writing positives. Instead sharpening the knives so they can write about what a failure Pep is. If potentially landing 3 premier league titles in 4 years and still got a shot at both cups is failure if we go out where does that leave their favourite teams playing in red? One they were calling the best team in the world last year which is at last chance saloon tonight and the other which couldn’t even get past the easy rigged group stages.

Glass jaw?

That's how we play; we're susceptible to the counter-attack. Pep understands this and the team understand this.

We lost against Leeds because we missed chances. That's it. That's all.

Ah of course it's Delaney.

'Routinely' he says. Leeds created 2 chances and scored 2 from it. For majority of this season, we weren't exposed by counters as much anymore, due to way Pep sets up. Leeds is 1 game in 38, hardly routine.

There was a rentagob on Sky Sports News yesterday who said Pep was “probably in the top 3 managers in the game today”.

I cannot for the life of me think who could possibly be in front of him in that list!
That is the kind of thing everybody should just end their subscription deal with Sky for, you pay through the nose for this kind of expert analysis, a 4yo child could do better and this is doing a disservice to any younger ones with more knowledge than that guy.

Can you imagine how poor you must be at your job if this **** is the chief football writer and you also cover football?

A shocking level of knowledge.

Silly Sally just did the same on BBC breakfast. Then spends ten minutes interviewing someone about what might happen in the Olympics in four months time.I mean does anybody give a shite about the Olympics !?
Well, not the BBC's website as the athletics page is the worst sports page in the world.

They often have clips of events that happened months previously but the event you have gone on looking to see is nowhere in site (pun intended)

Best thing to do is stop sharing, tweeting, retweeting, etc any of the media's articles.

They don't care if what they say is correct. They wind you up on purpose so you talk about it.

They only care about clicks and how many people 'engage' with their articles online.

In-cred-i-ble Bangs

Man City targeted by 'industrial strength' fireworks outside their team hotel at 2.45am, 4.30am and AGAIN at 5.30am in a bid to disrupt them before facing Borussia Dortmund, with players repeatedly woken overnight by 'incredible bangs'

Manchester City’s preparations for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final with Borussia Dortmund in Germany have been hit after fans exploded fireworks outside their hotel in a series of early-hours incidents.
Witnesses have spoken of ‘incredible bangs’ which awoke residents – including members of Pep Guardiola’s travelling party – at the Radisson Blu in Dortmund.
Sportsmail understands that a gang of 17 set off the first batch of what have been described as ‘industrial strength’ fireworks at 2.45am. City’s security staff immediately scrambled to the scene and patrolled the area.
Borussia Dortmund fans have let off fireworks outside the Manchester City hotel in Germany

Members of Pep Guardiola's travelling team were awoken by the explosives at 2.45am
However, at 4.30am, around seven members of the group returned to set off a second explosion in a separate area close to the hotel, which again awoke those inside.

Police were called and inspected the area, but it was City’s own security who then foiled a THIRD attempt at 5.30am. The club’s travelling staff spotted members of the gang returning and managed to chase them away from the area.
‘These were not just bangers,’ one source said. ‘We are talking industrial strength fireworks. The bangs were incredible. It felt as if the hotel shook.’
CCTV footage has been examined but further police action is thought to be unlikely.

City hold a 2-1 advantage from the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie
A picture obtained by this newspaper shows the aftermath of the two boxes which contained multiple fireworks.

Hotel staff are said to have been outraged by the incident and have been praised for their help.
The tie is delicately balanced, with City leading 2-1 from the first leg in Manchester.

No doubt Tebas slipped them a couple of grand set off the fireworks stamped with EUFA approved on the side.

Agreed fully. I only use Athletics Weekly now. Their cycling is almost as bad.
