In on of the sports bulletins on breakfast, as well as giving more mention of City's Mahrez missing a penalty than the act game, midget mike also pointed out the Comoros had qualified for the next phase.

Cue shaky mobile footage of their players celebrating. All good.

Then the poison dwarf tries to be knowledgeable. He says Comoros is an island off the Mozambique coast with a population of 1m. Close, peanut. It's a collection of Islands!

Does it matter? Probably not but if you're going to spout facts at least try and get some right!

Like the deliberate lies we constantly hear - bigger squad, state funding, not affected by COVID..
My wife calls it nobbing. Authoritatively claiming something is factual when in fact it isn't.
She accuses me if doing it a lot

Don't worry yourself. The BBC have gone all in with afcon as they don't want to be seen as racist. It's a tinpot tournament with little or no quality but they have to be seen to be treating it seriously incase someone accuses them of you know what.

Similar thing with women's football, absolutely shite but we've all got to pretend it's a serious creditable watchable thing.......when in fact it's rubbish.
It's quite a bit better than rubbish, but I take yer point that the BBC, time and time again, take pains to inform us that it is on a par with the men's game and we must not deride its quality. There are a good few teams that played in the Gorton and District Sunday League which would give some FAWSL teams a decent game. But the teams at the top of the WSL are well worth watching. I watch all the CIty teams, men, women and kids, and they each have their own features, foibles, and magic moments.
