“Wrong ‘un and a” are totally superfluous in that sentence…He’s a bit fucking odd to say the least. Just catching up but on his tweettamajiggy he mentions that blues don’t like him because he gave evidence in the Bennel trial? Well for one I’ve hated the **** long before that and two, I had no idea he gave evidence so that has no bearing on me thinking he’s a ****. It’s his lack of integrity on any City related content he puts across and his long held dislike of our owners that made my mind up, nothing else. By trying to say we are in some way defending a pedophile tells you exactly where his thought process lies.

One thing notable about City's crowds is that we plunge in 1958?! It would be quite interesting to know what the impact was on Manchester City fans of the Munich Air disaster. I bet it was devastating. I've got a vague feeling I read something about this in Colin Schindlers Man Utd ruined my life.
In Dave Wallace's CENTURY CITY about the 1957-58 season, the match programme editorial refers to the declining crowds, albeit fans of all clubs were far more fickle in those days, and City's average in 1954-55 had only been a few hundred less than United.
Schindler does mention Munich in his book, but more as a sarcastic reference to the millions who adopted United overnight rather than the Old Trafford regulars.
Gary James argues that WW2 diluted our core support, and that lending Maine Road to a progressive United in the immediate post war years had a far greater impact, especially as City had boasted bigger crowds than United throughout the 1930s (even in 1938-39 when City were in a lower division)
As if that wasn't bad enough, we then had the emergence of George Best coinciding with the Poyser years

That's how I destroyed the Villa fan, by pointing out City's average was 5k higher, for the decade he was boasting about for Villa. I didn't want to argue with moomey but his charts are based off league attendances where the Villa fan was trying to focus on a few cup games(they actually set their club records in the 40s but I didn't tell the Villa fan that). They include cup attendances, on the right side of the table for each club but they only give the totals for each cup(better than nothing). My calculations for anyone interested:

But clearly if Mr GJ knows the City figures aren’t right, then presumably the other teams figures have similar issues.
saying all that, there must be a modicum of accuracy in them, so like transfermarkt as long as the numbers are used as a guideline and used as such, then I’ll keep using the site as well.

Even despite City having ‘no history’, a ‘yo-yo’ club and once being in level 3, we have only spent a total of 4 years less than united in the top level… which clearly indicates that other than Ferguson,busby and mangall theyve really been quite crap
