Spot-on. It seems clear, even at this early stage, that a lot of the parties are in the wrong and the buck-passing has started. The police seem to have lost control and targeted innocent fans, the organisation from UEFA does look like a total shambles, some Liverpool fans tried to get in illegally with or without fake tickets, and so did some of the local street gangs. Yet the English media have only got one narrative which is LFC fans are wholly innocent, the French police are evil, and UEFA are just dishonest (this one is probably true). The coverage is, as you say, moronic. A professional journalist would at least provide some caveats, if only to provide some wriggle room as the full picture emerges. Some of the reporters were very close to the police brutality and have become part of the story on social media instead of actually doing their job properly.This whole Stade de France episode is a perfect illustration of the miserable state of our media. The reality of what did/didn't go on is probably quite complex and there will be elements of both sides of the story that have some truth.
This is exactly the time when you look for proper journalists to dig beneath the surface and try and present a more substantive and nuanced analysis of events. But the moronic coverage is proof if any is needed that we are sadly lacking in proper journalist talent.

If it is true as claimed that Liverpool insisted on paper tickets but Madrid had digital ones then it would explain a lot. It does sound a bit far-fetched though.Can anyone shed any light on the different ticketing arrangements for both sets of fans?
I fully expect dippers were behind creating the false dipper tickets on an industrial scale.the fact that it only seem to be the dippers who were targeted to buy fake tickets, would imply the forgers knew the dippers were an easy target or the dippers themselves doing the forging ?

A lot of lessons have been learnt from Hillsborough and there is no way on this earth authorities will open gates to an already full stadium. If this means riot police use tear gas to disperes fans rather than hundreds dying to a crush that's what they will do
