I’m old enough to remember when people, even City fans, could have a personal opinion and it didn’t have to completely match the personal opinions of every other Tom, Dick & Harry…and even being asked to be on Telly to express your opinion was a novelty and an exciting thing!

Yes, there’s a media agenda, both amongst pundits and hosts, that appears to favor the Dippers and the Scum. I don’t see it changing any time soon, but City have managed to be VERY SUCCESSFUL ON THE FIELD while both those clubs have faltered over the last decade.

Yes, Liverpool finally won their one PL title and added a thoroughly undeserved CL trophy, but they did it. United, on the other hand, have gone from bad to worse, swap managers more often than I change the oil in my car, and have a higher net spend than us and are about to lose their record signing on a free. That’ll be £800,000 IN over 2 transfers and over £80,000,000 OUT on one repurchase that won them nothing of note! And that’s before we discuss Maguire, Bailly, Varane, Sancho, Martial, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Fred, and even Ronaldo!

So, give the red bastards their punditry and give us another trophy…all day, every day, and twice on Sunday!

Maybe he needs to could consider the narrative & have answers that put them in their place.

Ask Neville not to hide behind innuendo & if they believe sheik mansour has committed a crime be specific or are you afraid of litigation. Say we can all make carefully crafted insults that provide a false narrative to damage all the great work that has been done.

Now if he doesn’t have the ability to do that, or he has but won’t then that’s why he’s there & he gets his job & his media dream.

but what do City fans get out of this? Why do we want to see someone representing the views of blues who isn’t, we could get a forest fan to do that.

Is that why he's there or is that just what you think he should be there for? It's not his job to be there to represent your views, he's not your mouthpiece, he's not even some elected representative, he's there as a media known city fan with his own mind and opinions that may or may not tally with other city fans.

As for his response or lack of, I've already said how these kind of things won't make the audience the stars, the entire show is the pundits talking. the audience is there to offer questions and provide somebody for them to bounce off, they'll never allow for any fan of any team to tear into any of them and portray them poorly and if it does happen, it gets cut. How do you know he didn't indeed have something cut? Also, It might be fine coming up with a structured response 2 days after you've heard his comments for this corner of the Internet to read, it's a different matter entirely to come up with it off the cuff to a person who's spent about 30 years in the media limelight and knows how to handle himself on camera and doing so with an audience and a camera staring at you that's going to allow millions of others to see.

What do we as city fans get out of it? Are we supposed to get something out of it? I don't know what you think this is and why you think us as city fans are owed something from it. It's a bit of entertainment that nobody is forcing you to watch. No single person represents an entire fan base, its literally impossible to do so, nobody's watching that thinking all city fans have the exact same thoughts as this one city fan I can see on my screen. you can't say he's not representing the views of blues either unless you are suggesting he himself isn't a blue. It's a committed act if he isn't.

For what it's worth, I've seen him around on other things and he's a bit too neutral for my liking, particularly when it comes to talking with fans of other clubs. He's a little bit too passive and nice, I'm sure he's a knowledgeable enough guy and could, and indeed should go on the attack a bit more but I'm not going to start shitting on him for not saying and thinking exactly what I, as an individual city fan would say in every instance I see him.

It's not as if he's out there making a tit of himself daily like so many of these well known media fans.

If he doesn’t know the shit that’s going to get said then he’s out of his depth, it’s been in rinse & repeat for years. He can turn up as often as he wants, take the money, the likes, the subscribers & smile & wave but with that will come criticism that he’s just another in the long line of sell outs. The more work he gets the more likely he’s going to be reliant on it as a professional Man City apologist & toe the line & then what.

I only watched a trendy 'segment' of millionaire Neville spouting about people who have more money than he, millionaire Keane displaying he doesn't really understand the financial side of football and millionaire Carragher waiting to make a joke so people knew he was there and l turned it off.
I thought back to the late 80s when football finance was about most clubs struggling and the big greedy boys wanting to be bigger and more greedy.
And then along came Murdoch holding hands with the new PL and the club that was going to make most of the new football World.
30 years later there's Sly Sky making money with programmes like this as if it's nothing to do with them.
"Nowt to do with me, guv. All somebody else's fault.'

I watched until Neville's comments about City inflating their sponsorships. Neville claimed it was simply wrong that City top the Deloitte money league but the answer is simple: we are the most successful club in the richest league in football, and the club that traditionally has earned the most revenue, Man Utd, are struggling on the pitch.

These are simple points and if you can't think on your feet and respond to them, don't operate in the media world.

I didn't watch the rest of it after that but I caught Neville's comment about rogue states. That's all about political perspective and the fact that football pundits can make claims like that about the UAE from Britain, and ex-colonialist power shows how far British politics has moved to the right, and how such notions are completely accepted.

In the short term it won't matter. In the longer term it will. They will act against City, or they will certainly try. And if they can't move against City, they will move against other foreign owners from what they term rogue states i.e. not Western.

We're living in a bizarre world where we have token anti-racism on the pitch alongside blatantly nationalistic ideology that will have consequences. City have spent the last decade fighting the net of FFP and the traps other clubs laid for us. This isn't going away, it will come up in a new form.

Perfectly explained.
