Once again the Daily United, via the Athletic, reprint a bullsh*t and negative story to dampen a positive City story. The Daily United do it every time. You'd think they were constantly doing it on purpose on behalf of other PL clubs and their owners. Surely the Daily United wouldn't do that, regardless of the source?

As usual, no link.

Aston Villa 'opened talks with Real Madrid and Manchester United over Jack Grealish because they preferred not to sell to Manchester City' - before finally accepting the £100million man had set his heart on the Premier League champions.

But it has emerged that negotiations became increasingly fraught at the beginning of the week as Villa delayed the move as long as possible and even tried opened dialogue with other clubs.

They say that Villa, like many other Premier League clubs, are concerned about City's success - they have won three of the last four titles - and financial muscle, which is damaging the competition. (United under Ferguson must have killed the PL competition)

(Lol! City didn't know about the release clause)

The report adds that City didn't actually know about the release clause and this allowed Villa to stall as long as possible, while bringing in their own signings.

The "drives slowly past schools and not because it's the law" is not a good look

Athletic report Chelsea sign Lukaku for £105 million but express report it as £97 million. Whatever the fee, does anyone seriously believe Lukaku is worth anywhere near the money we paid for Grealish, and will Chelsea be accused of destroying the game?

Pep: Hope you all had a good summer...Even you Simon.

Bwhahahahaha hes got the rag **** rumbled.

Just shows how clueless Stones and other journo's are with comments like "where you going to play him, with all your attacking options" It's like they have never heard of "total football" and it's origins all the way back to Jimmy Hogan and the Austrian "Wunderteam". Clueless dinosaurs with their fixed postion players, probably still trying to work out why England got a shallacking against Hungary in 1953. Bellends the lot of them.

Now why do you think the Express reported the lower 97m figure rather than the 100m figure? Let’s make it up as long as it’s less than whatever figure City paid.. twats
