Yup I've got to agree, if sterling has played for a red club his treatment would have been stopped a lot earlier than the 3 or 4 years he suffered it.

I was thinking this when I heard about it, I'm sure Sterling got booed several times on International duty and I honestly don't remember it being mentioned once.

I don’t remember it that way. If IIRC he came on as a Sub, was cheered to the Rafters when he came on and then he was literally cheered every single time he touched the ball. I remember he took a throw in near where I was sat and was enthusiastically applauded all round as he took up the ball! He said himself he was a bit bemused by it all afterwards (hopefully somebody explained it to him)
