I saw this earlier as it was repeated and I was gobsmacked. Even for these clowns it was a new low. I think the really gobby one who looks like someone who cons people out of their pension funds, said, "This is what the rest of football has to compete with, state owned clubs like PSG and Manchester City and it's just not possible, it's a real problem." He then went on to say we had very good lawyers who can circumnavigate the ffp rules.

The club might just want to ignore this but the damage it has done and is still doing is probably now beyond repair because they have ignored it for too long. Ask any one of us who go to games and pubs if it's just drivel that we should ignore, when we are constantly under verbal and at times physical attack due to the hatred towards our club and those associated with it, due to the lies these wankers peddle constantly. They have and are continuing to brainwash a nation that we are state owned cheats that have had all our success through unfair means. In other words we have also cheated their clubs out of success that could have been theirs and we must be stopped at all costs. It is the biggest mistake the club has made since the takeover allowing these people to peddle their lying filth.
I agree also if it happened in any other business the perpetrators would find themselves in court for slander and defamation of character

Thought I might as well join in.

Nice article on the BBC sports football page about how important it is to have a good start and showing the percentage of teams who have won the league when top in Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec. Quite interesting in a way. There are two pictures accompanying the story........now you'd think it would be the Champions or the team who have won 3 out of the last 4 titles....it's Liverpool!
Salford media mate, loads and loads of rags and scousers in that place

More lies and made up bullshit.

The Athletic, rehashed via the Daily Express.

£500mill. Good one. LoL!

PSG keeping their interest in Messi to themselves. Yeah, nobody but PSG knew they were interested in Messi. LoL!

Man City were reportedly ready to splash £500million on a long-term package to take Messi to the Etihad Stadium whilst he wanted to leave Barcelona.

It would have included a monumental transfer fee and a colossal salary, which ultimately led to PSG biding their time and keeping their interest to themselves.

The Guardian podcast talking about Barcelona being run into the ground…and the first thing Sid Lowe can think of is to bring up City and how we “spend loads of money” and are a “state club”.

What’s that got to do with Barcelona??

If anything, Bury or the rags are a closer example.

Just when you thought it would be safe to go back in the water ....Silly Sally is back on breakfast news..Prepare yourself for a full on Dipoer Rag fest coming to a screen new you ...sadly

The DT this morning poses six questions re FFP now that PSG have landed Messi. MCFC are the sixth question! It's just laughable. I think that more has been written about MCFC since CAS cleared us of FFP wrongdoing than had we been banned for ten years. The fire's going out, guys, chuck another sky blue log on!

City's lawyers must surely know if we have a nailed on case to sue, whether it be slander or liable ?
It makes me wonder why we wouldn't go for someone it that were the case and I can only conclude that it's either simply not worth it in the eyes of our board or they just can't be arsed !
I just can't help thinking that if we went to town on one individual or organisation it might put a stop to a lot of this shit or at least make them think twice etc ?
No expert in any PR but just over the years I have seen that a martyr (in context of a successful court order against an individual or an organisation) only strengthens a cause. Maybe best to avoid.

You and many others have got this backwards. Like the people who say that all corporations are "on the side" of LGBT causes. It's nonsense, corporations don't have a morality in order to choose a side. Their side is money.

Rupert Murdoch puts out products that make him money. It's that simple. If it was much more profitable for him to be a globalist socialist unionist then that's exactly what his products would be. The very link that you quoted earlier showed Fox News to be around as partisan and inaccurate at MSNBC but I don't see anyone attacking the Roberts family for their "radicalising" Joe Biden.

Essentially, all of the criticism here stems from a single and wrong point of logic - that anything right wing is inherently bad and therefore anything or anybody who promotes that is inherently bad for society. That's always the issue behind Murdoch criticism. It's not that he's powerful, it's that he's powerful and promoting things the person doesn't agree with.
I posed the question to @HelloCity whether he was mixing up 'dangerous' with 'right wing'. He denied it by saying "the Sun and Fox news are racist", which, of course, is not an answer.
Just another example of the "moral superiority" of the left. I, too, am one of those awful people who asks for evidence but none is ever forthcoming.

Hahaha that is the exact opposite of what happened. PSG were publicly courting Messi for 18 months while City said fuck all

As an ex PR man, I would say you have to weigh up the damage to your rep against the hassle and costs of suing and the danger of creating a martyr and being thought of as a bully.
Issues management techniques are often superior as they are not publicly obvious but we don't do that either as far as I can see. Most of our rep issues are of no consequence but two have come to light which have harmed us. First, Khaldoon is on the record as saying the perception of state ownership damaged CFGs attempts to find a site for NYCITY and, second, the attempts by Villa to sell Grealish to anybody but City. If that idea spreads, we are definitely being harmed.

But I think the RDAHMeedya don't and never will see it as bullying - it's a crusade, it's blessed, anointed, and nothing will bring such rewards as having a dig at MCFC.
As has been said, we should give one of these media groups such a kicking that the others fall into line. One of the major issues is continually describing us as 'state owned' when all the documentation shows that ADUG is owned by an individual and CFG, which does actually 'own' City, has three major shareholders.

There's also the accompanying narrative that we couldn't operate at the level we do without continual owner investment. That's also demonstrably false. It'd be nice if the club made it clear once and for all what the situation is.

They could then emphasise that there is no further excuse for misinformation and that any further repetition of these falsehoods would be treated as deliberate disinformation or even what's known as malinformation (which is disinformation that is deliberately designed to cause harm).

yeah, caught that Savakol (?) bloke on Sky, doing it (again), yesterday. Clear references to cooking the books and state owned. It was funny though, you could feel the frustration in his voice (he was nearly crying) as he repeated his falsehoods. It screamed of 'top six' supporter.

hopefully the athletic goes out of business.

and the morons who write for them can just stick to feeble attempts at winding up fans on twitter
