The City FFP investigation and CAS case encompassed financial and legal issues that your average football hack couldn't possibly understand. I think most of them recognised that, but some, the likes of David Conn and Nick Harris, think they have expertise in the area even though their performance with regard to the matter at hand decidedly suggested otherwise.

When people such as Sam Lee claim they discussed the matter with experts, they needed to ask those experts whether they'd studied the proceedings in CAS 1. In that case, City challenged the referral from UEFA's Investigatory Chamber to the Adjudicatory Chamber. Though we lost in that instance, the tribunal in its ruling was quite receptive to City's arguments generally. Moreover, that ruling contained an exposition of what some of our main arguments in the main CAS case would be.

I strongly suspect that, when people such as Sam Lee say they consulted experts, those experts weren't aware of CAS 1. I'd be amazed if Sam had the perspicacity to ask them.

A final point. These journalists seem to think they're intellectually superior to fans. Well, maybe they are to many fans, but, as was amply demonstrated in the CAS matter, we have people among our number whose perceptiveness pisses all over any of theirs.

I don't count myself among that number and don't want to come across as conceited, but sometimes I reflect on the intellectual qualities needed to do my job. None, literally, of the WhatsApp group would have a prayer, and Sam Lee would be so far away from being capable, it's untrue.

So fuck yourselves, you self-aggrandizing, conceited twats. Come back when you've developed the skills to match your delusions. I'll expect you when he'll freezes over.

I don’t know how to do the applause gif, but blimey Peter, that deserves one.

I am not sure intelligence comes into it. This was a case of the dominant clubs in England and Europe trying to keep out a new entrant, and no one likes new money. I don't think this is the case of City fans outsmarting the media but of the media misreading their case because they wanted to believe we were guilty.

Here's one for you, Sam. Salvage your reputation. What little reputation you have left. See if you can dig any further and get the answers no Journalist has been able to get. But expect an injunction stopping you from telling the truth from......

Liverpool paid a £1 million settlement to Manchester City after their Premier League rivals made a complaint that their scouting system had been hacked into.

The confidential settlement took place in September 2013 after it was reported that City had employed computer-espionage experts to see if the system had been spied on.

The scandal would appear to be the biggest incident of alleged misbehaviour by one top-flight club to another in the Premier League’s history.

The settlement came a year after three former City scouts moved to Liverpool. Two of them, as well as Michael Edwards who is now Liverpool’s sporting director, were alleged by City to have been involved in accessing their database on the Scout7 system on hundreds of occasions.

The two scouts alleged to have been involved in accessing City’s Scout7 system were Dave Fallows, now Liverpool’s head of recruitment, and Julian Ward, who was Liverpool’s European scouting manager for Spain and Portugal and is now the loan pathways and football partnerships manager.

A club spokesperson from Liverpool said on Saturday: "Liverpool Football Club does not provide any comment on any allegations relating to legal agreements it may or may not have entered into with any other club, organisation or individual."

Michael Edwards stepped down from his position in November but no reason has been provided for why he left.

Delaney saying fuck all on 5live earlier.
Delaney works for a Russian/ Saudi owned organisation (the Independent) but has never shown any concern about human rights abuses in Russia which was already one of the world's most oppressive and evil regimes, even before they started slaughtering people in the Ukraine. He's a disgrace to his trade.

I've consistently defended Sam Lee based on his football-only City articles on the Athletic and listening to him many times on the likes of 93:20 and more recently why always us. On pods he can be very verbose and waffly at times but when in form he has been really good, positive and perceptive as well. I've enjoyed lots of what he has done.

I really like Ahsan ( @BillyShears ) on 93:20 who strikes me as someone who doesn't suffer fools gladly (particularly with his strong views about the media) and it seemed Sam was very much a valued contributor and friend of the pod.

The other side of the coin is as we all know he was utterly useless about FFP and he has also let himself down with the tweet stuff - not just this episode but others as well and, of course, eevryone who talks about transfers gets heavily criticised.

I consistently criticised him here about FFP and recall one post questioning why the hell he didn't access Stefan particularly bearing in mind their mutual association with 93;20 is beyond me. Or is it - let's not forget the Athletic coverage of FFP was driven by Matt Slater and the other London boys. Sam was effectively the junior assistant which doesn't say much for him at all if he didn't have the clout to persuade them otherwise.
