All together now...

One of these clubs is not like the others!

Price of success sure. What's United's spending then eh, Sam? Price of keeping up with the noisy neighbours, failing and becoming a laughing stock?

Not going to click on it but if that graphic is correct doesn't it basically show that it has cost us 15% more spend than our rival to go from a standing start light years behind with the deck stacked against us to being utterly dominant?

You can have a separate conversation about the obscene amount of money in football but that just seems to be a tale of an incredible turnaround story and an unbelievably well run club.

Sam Cunningham from the iPaper going all in this morning:

It strikes a different tone to Twitter – the medium that seems to dominate football debate – where fans defend their club in staunch tribalism, insisting with blind faith that this isn’t about rules and regulations but everyone being out to get them. Some of this has seeped into the real life of the Etihad Stadium, where I have witnessed fans shout horrific abuse at journalists who have dared to ask questions of City’s ascent.

It's awful to imagine anyone throwing horrific abuse at the liars and propaganda merchants that laughingly call themselves 'journalists', the very same cretins that bleat on about how important the freedom of the press is. I hope his terrible experience didn't scar him too much, though none of them seemed that concerned about the even more horrific attack on a young girl at the Liverpool game.

Yep. If those figures are accurate the spend by the rags and Chelsea is incredible given the position of both in 2008. But that angle does not generate clicks.

The Guardian getting right behind the side representing our country in the European cup final.

This guy has got the right surname.

Lol. Well get rid of this ffp bollox then and let any team catch us and any other rich club up! How is it our fault that we spend our money better than the others? Let teams like sheff weds, Blackburn etc dream of doing what we’ve done. They have 0% chance under the current rules

He can't be serious.

I am pretty sure I have witnessed "journalists" writing horrific abuse of the club, it's owner, board, management and fans on a daily basis over the last fifteen years simply because they have dared to challenge the "history" clubs. The tragedy here is that the tribalism he is concerned about has seeped into mainstream sports journalism.

Tosser.
