1 online football tabloid this morning.

20 Arsenal v United post match articles.
1 City v Wolves post match article.

The main headline being.

English football NEEDS this rivalry. It’s good to have them back.

There’s absolutely no chance of breaking the pro United, Arsenal and Liverpool football media cartel in this country, regardless of what other teams do, not just City. It’s a f*cking disgrace!
Tell that to Khaldoon with his protect the premier league bollocks speech.

From the daily fail - the club need to sort this out ASAP

City probe now a cold case

The Premier League's investigation into Manchester City is in danger of dragging on for so long that the key agitators will no longer be involved in football when it reaches its conclusion.

It has long been known that Manchester United and Liverpool were among the voices calling for action against the champions and were thought to be key to a 2020 bid, revealed by Sportsmail, to get City banned from the Champions League.

However, both are up for sale and, with speculation about further investment from sovereign wealth funds rife, it remains to be seen whether new owners will have the same thirst for blue blood.

They’ll have been aware from the beginning.

What a surprise. As FSG fade away from the PL there has been a slowing down of the dirty tricks campaign against City. Perhaps that is why there has been an attempt by senior managers at both clubs (underneath the ownership tier) to try and re-build relationships.
Just like UEFA, the PL has not found a scrap of evidence of wrongdoing by City (because there is no evidence). As has long-been predicted on this forum the PL lawyers will be happy for the investigation to be "timed-out." Then they will brief the media that they did their best to "tackle evil Arab-oil club City." I wouldn't be surprised if this Daily Mail story is a preliminary leak to lay the ground for the case collapsing.

Exactly - so why has it been allowed to drag on for years

Will the rags and dippers new owners care about City breaking the rules
rather than
Was there any evidence of rule breaking in the first place

Hope so. We don’t deserve this stigma
