The BBC has become totally politicised in its coverage of everything in my view. Look at Dan Roan’s Twitter feed.Tune out mate. It hateful anti Middle East propaganda. It’s what their audience demands.

I never knew anything about that until now. I've just done a quick read up and they claim it's to do with the Davenport family hanging sheep stealers rather than anything race related! If he thinks that’s bad, he should Google ‘Stockport Golf Club Badge’ then click images
Must be the most racist club badge in the world. Gobsmacked they’ve not been made to change it
My God. It doesn't have a **shudders** ship on it, does it?I never knew anything about that until now. I've just done a quick read up and they claim it's to do with the Davenport family hanging sheep stealers rather than anything race related!
Totally. It’s just not worth the time and hassle anymore. Although it is generally hard to find good reporting these days. Every corporation has a agenda in some shape or form. Shareholders need paid and the political needle bounces back and forth to the highest bidder. The BBC has become totally politicised in its coverage of everything in my view. Every time I watch Cheesman's vlog I think we have the nicest, the friendliest and the most cultured supporters in the PL. And then you decide to crawl out of your crevice...FUCK ME!!!!what do you expect from that communist anti british rag known as the guardian, socialist worker party comic journalist wrings hands over alleged offence shock horror, as predictable as ever these clowns
Yes , I can see your point especially the bit about hints of Nazism in the eagle badge.I've read the article this morning and I didn't find Hattenstone going after the club or any negativity in his article. I actually found it very educational, particularly for us non-Mancunians. And he touched on all sides of the argument.
I always thought bees were slaves. Everything seems to involve exploiting someone or doing someone in. Maybe we should just have a badge with a City blue football and a smiley face.Article doesn't seem negative to me, more thoughtful.
Would a bee be a better symbol? Maybe?
Right near the end of the article which seems to ignore any mention of the world’s biggest Slave city….just 30 miles from Manchester.I thought the same.
Is there a mention of Manchester’s proud history of refusing to use slave picked cotton in its mills?
That's great, but I'm sure you could also imagine some people like the guy mentioned in the article whose letter promted it, or the people who raised it 30 years ago might feel different, and their opinion would be just as valid as yours which is why it's interesting to read these different points of view collected in an article.
These articles are also worth having because they teach us about our history, we've got loads of people going off about how the ship is to do with the canal (which is what I thought as well), but that's obviously not true when it predates the canal by 50 years.
No one's burning any books, no one's demanding any changes, no one is suggesting we get ladders and a chisel and go around chipping the ship off every building, no one is going after the club.
