Any talk of a treble needs to be put on ice until 2 trophies are lifted and City have the opportunity to play in the champions league final. I’d be happy if we ended up with one of the trophies, two would be amazing, three would be historic.

If City did land all three, we would be looking at the greatest group of players arhat played the game and also the greatest manager in English football. Pep would have put together a team that has won the league by 100 points, lifted a domestic treble, won the premier league 3 times in a row if it happens and then the actual treble on top of that.

The compare and contrast to how they report on their beloved rags is evident. Ten Hag wins the league cup and has got them into the top four a squad that has cost United astronomical amounts of cash, they are hailing him as the new Taggert. The piss boiling if this happens will be delicious.
I knew we were good but....

Organic is just another buzz word in football terms.Without context it is meaningless.
Organic Man Ure !

It’s not organic when it’s all done by extending business loans. Their debt is going up not down, how is living way beyond their means on the never, never a stable way to run a football club? No wonder they stash their accounts away in the Cayman Islands, I bet there’s some right skeletons jangling away.

If we do win the treble we will do it with more points, more goals scored, less conceded, having put six past them and four past Liverpool. We will have beaten Arsenal to the title, Bayern, Real Madrid, and probably AC Milan. We will have won the first ever all-Manchester FA Cup Final. Our leading player will have scored more than 50 goals. Apparently this will not compare with United's huge league tally of 79 points. Whatever!
Without looking it up I'm pretty sure they won all of 4 games on route to the champs league final.

I'd love for somebody to show me a club that has grown "organically"
The Rags have had money pumped into them, Arsenal had Henry Norris, Liverpool bought their way out of division two with gifted money... etc. etc. etc.
All the way back to the formation of the league... with the scandal of a club like Blackburn - quite simply, football wasn't awash with money like today... well funded clubs did so out of the pockets of the board/benefactors...
There's a telling line in The Damned United, where Clough wants to buy a player and Chairman Sam Longson (Jim Broadbent) says "Where am I supposed to find that kind of money" (something like that)... I know it's only a movie, but it highlights that the money came out of pockets rather than club accounts.
ALL successful clubs have had outside investment.

Wish I could like this twice!

Yes, but you seemingly deal in facts whereas Ian relies on emotion and bias so he must be right

According to Wiki, in a qualifying round they beat the mighty LKS Lodz 2-0 in first leg and drew 0-0 in the second leg. In the group stages they drew at home to Bayern 1-1, Barca 3-3 and beat Brondby 5-0. Away they drew with Bayern 2-2, Barca 3-3 and they beat Brondby 6-2. In the quarter finals they beat Inter 2-0 then drew 1-1, drew with Juve 1-1 and beat them 3-2 and then they fluked the final. So in total, six wins and seven draws as opposed to Bayern who won seven, drew four but lost two. They were scummy twats even then.

It's not what the treble would mean to me and you, it's all about what it means to the journalists and apparently it wouldn't be very good...

The rags bought (and in doing so broke British transfer records for) Veron and Ferdinand in 2001 and 2002 for £28m and £29m respectively when the average transfer cost was less than £5m.

Prior to 99 they also broke british transfer records when buying Law, Cole and Robson. They have also consistently been around the top spenders in English football in modern times. If that wasn't enough they were then one of the ring leaders in creating the Premiership (created to financially throttle the smaller clubs and channel more income to themselves).

So this media driven propaganda is akin to The Ministry of Truth in 1984.

Most readers simple don't have the intelligence to use Google and find ACTUAL facts for themselves, choosing rather to deepthroat the huge dick of lies the old guard thrusts at them.
