I've just read a most uplifting article on the BBC website explaining that Salah's new contract "goes beyond football" because of his religious observances and his general niceness. It's very good of Liverpool paying him hundreds of thousands of pounds a week whether he scores goals or not, just for being good for football. I'm sure the Echo could get a good story out of this crap.
"Why paying Salah twice as much as the rest of the team is good for Liverpool."

Correct.

It’s like every player who once upon a time played for United or one of their youth teams no matter how few games he played, will always get mention as a United ex-player.

Just now on SSN Andy Goram ex Rangers and ex Manchester United has died.

I’m surprised the rest of the league aren’t up in arms at the continual squeezing of these **** and their name into every fuck news item or match report.
Didn’t realise he had passed away. Didn’t seem that long ago he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. RIP.

Not at all.

I thought that was the right terminology and changes my mid before posting.
Haha, it's all just light hearted banter! Lilt is a totally tropical soft drink, so I guess Lilting might apply to somebody who's drinking it!

I guess you could have said tilting, but that's not really a nautical term!

So the new narrative is that as long as the player does charity work and is a nice chap then it doesn't matter what he's paid.

Righttttttttttt.

Funny how that's only been wheeled out for Mane and Salah isn't it.

Liverpool have some amazing spin doctors at work.

As soon as Raz leaves all his work with youth charities in London will become relevant all of a sudden.

I saw some guff the other day about LFC putting Salah up for sale as they werent prepared to meet his wage demands. The usual bollox followed but the gist from their fans was fuck off Salah you greedy bastard, we are special, if all you want is money then join City blah blah blah. Now they’ve given in and paid him what he wants, basically doubling his wage and that of the next highest wage earner Dick van Dyke at £220k, he‘s back to being a hero and the club have done the right thing blah blah. of course the media are lapping it up. Just hope Dick and co started demanding more money.

So to put it another way, Manchester City are odds on favourites to win the league.
Completely ludicrous. Odds on in a 38 game comp with the first ever WC break in the middle? Hardly generous. It will be interesting to see what happens to the prices when the money starts going on.
