The twat.

I’d never heard of this guy before this Haaland stuff.

I don’t think what he’s said is too outlandish, barring maybe the stupid stuff about being a flop unless he wins the CL for us.

He thought he’d do okay in his first season and is now changing his mind as he’s started so well.

If he’s the first forward to score 100 league goals with less than 500 touches will any of us be upset? It’s just stupidity on their part.
It's the lack of context that bewilders me.
If Haaland has two, ten or 200 touches, what does that statistic mean when presented in isolation?
What's the average amount of touches for a no.9?
Is there sone gold standard touches to goals ratio that we don't know about?
Or a minimum amount of touches he should be aiming for? Some target that means he's had a good game (presumably, even if he doesn't score)?

Of course there isn't because none of these things apply in the real world. The number of times a player touches the ball is only one component of their performance. Theoretically, a forward could never touch the ball in a game but have made the runs that created spaces for ten goals.

So why go out of the way to focus on the number of touches? And why only for Haaland? How come he is the only forward ever whose success is to be measured in touches rather than goals?

I could maybe understand as part of a wider analysis, if he wasn't playong well or wasn't scoring but using a random statistic as a backhanded insinuation that he's not playing well - when the kid is actually on fire - is a new low.

They’re trying to unsettle him, hoping it becomes the narrative and becomes so loud that it filters to the player that our club doesn’t care enough about him to give him the fucking ball. Outlandish as it sounds shit like this is part of the agenda, make some negative bullshit up about our club and repeat ad nauseum until it becomes normal and factual to the Neanderthals out there.

I’ve seen players need 3 or 4 touches to get the ball under control cos they are wank. Suddenly it’s now another useless stat.

It’s like when they are obsessed with “ the assist” yet you play the defence splitting pass before the assist & you get no credit.

Was that the game when the pitch was an absolute mud bath? If it was I was at that game. My older brother was over from Australia (who is a huge blue) and we went. A long way to travel to watch that!

The baseball ground was always a mud bath.
But no , the 6.0 was early season, Derby had a good team Wright scored and it was packed as Sardines in the City end.
Another great following in the says when you could take more than 3000 away.

It's all based on what the media fan boy Harry kane does. Alot of the time he drops into that number 10 position and gets plenty of touches so that's the bench mark all good strikers will be judged on

I’m guessing the one the other guy is remembering is the game where Corrigan disputed where the penalty spot was, as it had disappeared and they ended up getting a tape measure out and repainting it during the match. Another hammering but only 4-0 that time. Well earlier than the 6-0 though. Maybe ‘77?

She is one of my all time favs from her Sunday Supplement days - watching her trying to work through the mental gymnastics of some of her ridiculous offerings really was a joy to behold.

Great tv.........
She looks like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle.

Yes.
Unfortunately I was at both.
I really don't remember the years, win or lose we had a booze.

The DT have awarded the Rags the status of a newly-elected government - !00 days into Ted Rag's tenure and 'revamp'!

Naturally, maintaining a strict editorial policy on reporting the sport, the Champions of England haven't got a column inch.

James Ducker on Sky just mentioned the "corner turn" for tent pegs 100 dsy revolution.

Anyone calling him an idiot hasn't really thought it through. Not only has he monetised the clicks from the original video, he's now monetised the clicks on his "backtracking". Just don't click on it in the first place.

Lol! It's started.

Only in Brazil?

Next it will be.

I've always been a United fan. I've always wanted to play for United. United are the biggest club in the world and in Brazil. Marcus can help me feed the United fans in the favelas across Brazil.

"Alti" Taylor likes this!

Think their "special" socks are gonna get a whole lot crinklier.... Yuck!

Yup, similar to when Neville was it started the ‘tactical fouling’ issue like it was a completely new thing that only we were doing.

Why not look it up on the home page here? Only takes a few seconds - Home - History - Matches - Season by season.

It always amazes me that people never seem to use this facility, and profess ignorance of dates and seasons of matches. Same with "Players A-Z" on the history pages.

Because they are just having a conversation, can you imagine that in a pub and the boring **** gets his A-Z of football out and bores you to tears with it, but hey, he would be factually correct?
