Meeters and Greeters....Lord have mercy.........

It is unfortunate that City do seem to be trying their hardest to alienate certain fans. Fans who have been going for many years........ but its nothing new really.

It's been going on for years and many have given up for varying reasons.

If the club fill your seat with families, in game IPad, Iphone using corporate types talking about work all through the game then they won't give a shit.

Maybe one of the reasons is that some of the young execs now at City are not local people.......some even from the other side of the world (Australia etc) Bringing their ideas over here to try at MCFC.

It's a brand now remember not OUR footie club anymore. We are revenue streams not fans.

As the OP of this thread I find that statement depressing........but true

For fuck sake can we not get a fucking proper City fan in charge to combat all this cringe!?

I thought we did? Aguero went round to his house last season to tell him he won the competition.

The owners cannily recognise that sports/leisure travel will be a highly lucrative international business just at the time when we will be stopping filling our cars with petrol. People will travel to Manchester/New York/Melbourne/Yokohama etc. to see the cities, enjoy a match experience, and spend in the respective stores; the packages won't be cheap, but the whole 'experience' will be increasingly tailored to such guests and less so to the homegrown grumblers. No point looking for standing zones, singing zones, or any other such zone, I'm afraid, just enjoy the experience and have a nice day.

I think you're missing the point and forgetting who owns us.

We weren't taken over to fill a stadium full of tourists, we were taken over because we had a solid fanbase when we were shit. The owners and his colleagues don't need to make money from getting bums on seats.

I could say more, but your last point in bold is idiotic and I don't want to waste my time.

You are right with everything you and the other lads said in the earlier posts about all this bullshit at the ground now, before and after the game. I think what you're saying here about who owns us and not needing the money and why they bought us etc is very naïve. Do you seriously think they give a shit about us the fans who were there through thin and thinner? They'll keep putting the prices up to the ridiculous prices they charged against Liverpool on the opening day of the season until it reaches a point where people can't afford it. Lots of us will have to stop going at some point over the next 5/10 years if it carries on like this and if they can fill our seats with some newbies they won't give a shit. Remind you of another club just outside Manchester who we mocked over this for years. That goal by Aguero will probably be never topped for many of us but it came at a cost.

But we are expanding the ground and we can't fill the ground at the moment. There aren't enough tourists to fill that ground as season ticket holders.

Like I've said, if they create more sections then it will go some way to solving the problem.

Atleast City don't force fans to attend matches like United do.

who do you think is a better cash cow? the proper footy fan lads and lasses who campaign for cheaper tickets who will roar the team on? or the bored families with 2 kids who have disposable income who need to shut little johnny up with a trip to the soccer? it's a sad fact that in comes hand in hand with our modern brand of 'football'.

I'm not at all sure what the club are hoping to gain with this initiatiave (I use the term loosely).

Maybe they provide information for the day trippers, those who get lost looking for a near 2 foot letter of the alphabet that tells you what entrance to use.

I only guessing.

This made me laugh, though.

It's the fans who keep on supporting the club no matter which enables the club to put structures in place to run a sustainable club.

It's sponsorship and owner investment that enables clubs to play with the big boys.

A lot of these fans are sick of the match day experience shit, ticket prices, pink LED's blasting out in your eyes, loud PA system, Showsec, no standing, shit atmosphere, over paid players, no beer at certain games, early leavers, Ipads, JCL's, blah blah blah

oh and moaning old cunts like me

yus, my point was that there is a global fan base to appeal to keep that money coming in and the fact is there are more people who get off on the Disneyland approach than those who remember pre-Premier League

Yep those pink LED's blasting out and the rest of the colours flashing on and off, made me fucking dizzy no wonder Big Willy was disoriented, best summed up by 2 Geordies I was yakking to in Town after the match ''it was like being at a fucking Pink Floyd concert on acid, strange ground''
