Mehdi Benatia

He already had a moan earlier in the week that other clubs outside of Italy were offering him bigger wages and that he dreams of a club like City, Barca etc etc.. so that indicates to me he is willing to move.

He was never going to come out and publicly say he is leaving Roma though because surely if Roma are willing to sell then they would want the best price possible? If he publicly said he wanted to leave then it favours us to put in low offers and Roma wont want that.

This morning, the Giallorossi defender Mehdi Benatar, at the center of rumors that it would take away from the capital for the next season, he was in Trigoria. The Moroccan has just completed an internship with his national team and could have spoken with the leaders of the Giallorossi. At the exit from the technical center Fulvio Bernardini the player would have stopped to sign some autographs for the fans to whom he confided: "I stay in Rome, do not worry." This as revealed by the radio station Radio Mana Sport.

^ The bolded part could be significant. You don't want to piss off Romans.

You know what happened to Spartacus

Roma's coach Rudi Garcia has just renewed his contract until 2018… Maybe he was assured Benatia wouldn't be sold before he signed? This will all be cleared up by tomorrow imo.

Exclusive: Benatar, only to Rome from 40 million and up

Very soon Walter Sabatini take a position on the matter Benatar. The Rome there has been bad, but more. And he is right to sell because it would be enough to clarify in the family, without the media fire that did not help, for now the Capitoline a lack of respect. The club is strong and has the authority to use an iron fist. Regardless of the sirens, Manchester City at the head, who pointed to by the time the Moroccan defender. Roma wants to resist, very strongly. And if this fails, the evaluation of Benatar would have a basis to 40 million, not one less. More than a provocation, it is a situation that absolutely Rome intends to keep under control.

I don't think we'll ever get a top CB to partner Kompany. Savic, Toure, Lescott, Boyata, Nastasic ( still has potential) & Demichelis ( has actually done ok but no future) and we have spent £500m + on transfers :|

Alfredo pedulla saying 40 million euros is what they'll accept

Thats about £32 million.... expensive stuff this centre back shopping...

So many clubs are looking in the top end of central denders this summer yet there are not that many top class central defenders around today.

Us, Barca, Bayern, PSG and United are all names who have acquired or are looking to acquire a central defender this summer.

PSG's 50m for David Luiz was always going to inflate the market though.
