Mehdi Benatia

@RafaelH117 now
Barcelona dropped all interest on Mehdi Benatia as the club doesn't favor a biding war with Manchester City.

If we don't get him, I hope Nastasic can become the player we know he is in the high line.

I'm not sure he can be though, we've seen how much he struggled to adapt to it last year, and with the league set to be more competitive, it remains to be seen whether or not he can adjust
Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. He's young and was injured last season. Can we preach patience on him please?

There's no place for patience in a top team like City. Imagine how things might have turned out if we'd had patience with Demichelis after his series of dodgy performances last season.

Or with that complete waste of money David Silva.

And don't let me begin about Dzeko.

We can afford to have a little patience with a young home grown player. Nastasic just needs to work on the high line a little more. He'll be alright.

He doesn't count as home grown does he?

Nastasic is very young dont worry about him, he just has to concentrate on improving every season. Certainly he wont be playing as often as he did in 12-13 but still can learn a lot.

In Rekik's place I surely would want another loan tho because he hardly can expect games if he is back and is about 5th choice CB.
And come back only after next season when Demichelis is off.
Clearly Demichelis is very much trusted by Pelle, he will get games next year too.

Benatia or Mangala, I dont know, I would be ok with Lovren too, about 10m cheaper than those two, PL experience, 25 years old. He also had some CL experience with Lyon.

So do I mate. Thus my hesitation to pay top dollar for a player who relegates him to the bench long term. I think his potential merits him one more year before we sign over him.

Nastasic has one more season as an U21 player, after that he counts as a non-HG player and has to be included in the squad. I'd guess he also has one more season to cement his position in the squad, if he doesn't I'd be surprised if we kept him, as much as I think he has huge potential still.
