Melbourne City FC Thread

It was rain. 35° and then some rain so the humidity was abhorrent.

They had 1 attack in the second half and scored in the 88th minute.

Typical City.

Remind me never to go to Adelaide based on tv screen shots, looks like a sunny Rotherham.
.

I would never recommend visiting Adelaide but it is not like Rotherham. Neat, tidy, clean but boring and full of the types of people who will stop and point at airplines as they fly overhead.

Another day it could have been 4/5-1. But a loss to the bottom of the table isn't good.

Melbourne seem to really miss Mooy this season to direct and control the tempo of games. They look sparkly on the outside but seem unable to turn the screw/close a game out.

Definitely. Mooy was always going to be hard to replace.
What's so frustrating is the speed of ball movement. It's almost like the safer option is preferred. That possession is more important than penetration.
After what promised to be a turning point it seems more of the same.

A loss to the bottom side is nothing less than disastrous and maybe if possible the new coach should be brought in sooner rather than later.

Game tonight against Mariners at home. Big chance of losing to the bottom side 2 weeks in a row.

After winning the FFA Cup the wheels have well and truly fell of just 1 win in 7 matches.

We score first and then sit back and hope to hold out. Watching us recently has become painful and doesn't look like improving.

There is something fundamentally wrong. This should have been a period were we should have picked up points playing the weaker teams and positioned ourselves for a top 2 finish and a ACL place but 9 points of second and 14 off top is virtually impossible so our only hope is winning the grand final.

After a season that began with so much promise has turned to another typical mediocre affair with little joy.

We've had years of it mate, recently some light relief though ;)

HT City 2:Mariners 1. Mariners down to 10 men but I am nowhere near confident.

Lets see if we can put them to the sword or are we going to cough up an equiliser.
