Melbourne City FC Thread

What's going on with the CFG teams? Did they just give up on the all the teams not from Manchester?

I actually think this is the core of the issue. It does seem that its all controlled from Manchester although TBF I personally have no idea. I think this season is when the straw has finally broken the camels back here in Melbourne. There has been a real shift in feeling towards the club amongst the majority of supporters IMO, and the media is starting to turn on the club (finally).

CFG has become poison over here, so If I were them id distance ourselves, allow Melbourne City to have a large amount of independence, allow us to make our own decisions (and mistakes) and develop the club ourselves. Critically, this needs to result in us having our own distinct home kit. The new colours I have no problem with. But it could not have been implemented in a worst way. I always thought the best way to bridge the change from Heart to City was for us to have a home kit like Argentina or Malaga.

Something like this....

Yeah, I have been shitting on CFG. But I was and still am (just) in favor of their ownership and not everything is bad. CFG have transformed the womens comp over here, which has been great and is something I am incredibly proud of. Plus the facilities they built, which are the best in the league (Although we have paid CFG back through Mooy and hopefully Arzani)

Melbourne also puts on some great events for supporters as well, they have started a partnership with a local micro brewery and they host supporter events where players all come along. In fact, I think the Manchester people will probably be shocked with the amount of access us supports here in Melb have to the players, although it is an unfair comparison.

New York I could not care less about, CFG made that club so their support cant complain about anything IMO. The situation here in Melbourne is fundamentally different.

Well I hope for your fans down there that some action's taken at some point. Getting rid of Joyce would seem like a good start.

With Adelaide winning we are down to 6th.

10 points from the 11 games.

If things end like this and we stay 6th, we play 3rd (currently Victory who just won away to Perth) and will absolutely get destroyed.

Regarding the bird shit, I haven't ever seen anyone cop it but logic says I'm due.

Melbourne Blues .... I'm in Melbourne this weekend and have previously been pointed in the direction of The Imperial Hotel to watch the City v Brighton game (@ 3.30am). Can anyone confirm it will definitely be on, as the TV listings on the City website don't mention Australia. If I can't watch at the Imperial I'll stay in bed and boot up the laptop with VPN access to ESPN+ :D but I'd prefer to watch it with other blues ?

I think the pub closes around 1am on weekends and midnight on weekdays. Not many pubs are 24 hours. Your best chance would be at the Crown but at that time in the morning might not be that pleasant.

I reckon the laptop would be your best bet.

We play Brisbane at home tomorrow night. This season has been the most arduous and it's a hard gig to get motivated for the remaining games.

We should beat Brisbane they have been complete rubbish all year and they have nothing to play for.

I'm not confident but hopeful we start to play decent football.

99% certain it'll be open for the match. The supporters club here on Facebook is saying it will be so head on down.
