Merseyside Police

To be honest I dont think its Merseyside Police its all Police at Football.
You see them all stood outside the ground at our place dying for it to kick off.

Last year I got nicked against Sunderland for shouting at them to "F'ing sing about your own team you sad t**ts" when they were singing Rag songs. 2 coppers steamed me into the fence at the back of the South Stand ripped my chain and shirt.

No need they all are power mad, I actually think its quite funny when a couple of them get digs.

Similar story to my mate - he got lifted for fuck-all in the first half and has to go to court in early Feb. They didn't let him go until after the last train had gone so we had to go over and pick him up.

When Everton got the penalty, I said to another mate "He's given a fucking penalty". Copper taps me on the shoulder and says "2 things mate - stop swearing, and keep the noise down". I was gobsmacked to say the least - fair enough with the swearing, but being asked to keep the noise down at a football match ffs? You couldn't make this shit up.

Oh, and special thanks must go to those Everton fans who bricked our coach on the way home.

where did that happen fella with the coach?

It was a good mile and a half to 2 miles away from the ground going back towards the motorway - thought we were far enough away from the ground and out of the danger zone so I was surprised when it happened to be honest.

Just a quick note for anyone who's been caught up in this incident (or any others, perhaps after the United game), that it's vital that you seek legal advice and do not accept a caution. Accepting a caution is not an easy way to make things go away and is an admission of guilt (and could ultimately see you on your way to a Football Banning Order).

The Football Supporters' Federation have got a number of solicitors who specialise in cases involving football fans and police, and we've had a City fan already get in touch with us about his treatment at the hands of Merseyside Plod.

If anyone else needs any assistance (or if anyone reading this knows of anyone else involved) get in touch with the FSF by emailing info@fsf.org.uk or by calling 0870 2777 777. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Cheers,

FSF

Just to add to the above, the police can offer you a caution at the station. Don't accept it without taking legal advice first - even if the police say a solicitor won't be available for ages... a few hours in a cell won't be the best experience you've ever had, but it may save you from getting a criminal record. A caution will show on any police checks.

If you're due in court, do not rely on a duty solicitor. It is imperative you are represented in court by a solicitor who has taken the time to work on your case. Don't think you'll just get it over and done with and plead guilty... even if you are guilty, decent representation can make all the difference to your sentence.

I know costs deter some people from seeking legal advice. Our solicitor will give free advice over the phone and if you opt for representation in court, the charges are very reasonable indeed. The FSF has a fund to assist people who may not be able to afford legal fee's.

Contact us at the details above or you can email me directly at amanda.jacks@fsf.org.uk

I've also just sent PMs to those on this thread who were arrested or know somebody that was with my number for them to get in touch.

Last time I went to the Everton away fixture, a few coppers got on the coach and told us 'No fuckin' about, your not in Manchester now'...as you can imagine most just started laughing to be threatened with the cells for the night. Scouse pig toss pots.

I too was thrown out of this game for singing at half time, missed both Derby games, Scunthorpe & Pompey, which I believe I didn't miss much. I'm due in court this week where they're hoping to get a 3 year banning order, for singing!!!!!!!! You just couldn't make it up!
I got in touch with FSF who are helping me with my case but wondered if anyone had got any video footage of what actually happened at half time. I've looked on You Tube but can't see anything. If anyone's got anything that may be of any assistance I'd be very grateful, otherwise it'll be my words against theirs, hmmm wonder who'll win that one?????
