Mesut Özil

Has to be bollocks. Why would we need another attacking mid? We already have Silva, Nasri, Navas, Jovetic & Milner in those positions. Unless we are moving Milner to CM permanently which is his best position. But anyway can't see this happening.

The only Arsenal players worth getting at this moment are:
1) Sanchez
2) Ramsey
3) oh wait rest are shit

Id buy Walcott tomorrow. He is a game changer and stretches defences no end
I'd take chambo any day he's a direct player who wants to score not assist others

Ozil would be a good buy if City were able to get him for the 32 million as reported. With Silva out injured, City didn't look very creative in attack against CSKA, Ozil is a very similar player to Silva who will play the decisive ball to breakdown a solid defense. He has only just turned 26 and is one of the best CAM's in the world.

I guess you're an Arsenal fan desperate to get rid if him and spend our money to see us break FFP again.

£32 million,.....WTF,.....you must be on a wind up,.....maybe £3.2 million.

Presumably he'd be signed to add a bit more bottle to the team? A proper grafter who doesn't go missing when things get tough, seems perfect.

Ozil is crap, Ronaldo made him look good in the Madrid side and He's been living off a good world cup in 2010.

Here are Ozil's stats from his last season at Madrid and 1st season at Arsenal courtesy of mixedknuts on twitter. The graphics are scaled so that a player in the top 5% is outside the largest circle and bottom 5% is inside the smallest circle. As you can see they are quite alike. He could do better with his scoring and goal conversion %. Its not too surprising that his throughballs dropped going from the Madrid attack to Giroud, Cazorla, Podolski, and Walcott being injured for a lot of the season.

Ozil is basically the same player he was at Madrid. His statistics would almost surely improve if he was playing through balls for Aguero instead of Giroud. For a player in his prime that Arsenal bought for £42.5M, City buying him for £32M a year later would be great business.

Stats can be manipulated. He is no where near the same player he used to be. He does not dribble and his form since his injury last season was very poor. He needs a move, because I don't think there is any chance he is going to regain his form at Arsenal.

the problem is he doesn't offer enough difference in play from Nasri and Silva. Better than Nasri? Yes, but it wouldn't change our playing style enough. Need someone more direct.
