Thanks for the info. This looks like it is going to be a nightmare to get back to Altrincham again as seems there will be plenty of trams to take people the mile or so from the city centre to the stadium and back but once back at Piccadilly after the game it will be 20 min services to get to Alty which if you can’t get on the first tram or two due to volume of people trying to get on could be a very long wait for the next Covid Express to Altrincham

That is what concerns me, along with the fact that the idiots keep using single units.

To be fair the Etihad stop did only open a decade ago, they’ll sort it out eventually.

Should have been ready for the Commonwealth Games, that went well.

There are no trains from Alty to Piccadilly as an alternative to the tram today either which will encourage more people onto the tram

Basically my feeling is if you are going to shut down transport systems on public holidays, then why expect people to attend sporting events?

Double units from Altrincham direct to the Etihad, so far all good

Cleared the stadium with ease and an Altrincham tram was due in 9 minutes at Picadiilly. Then it vanished off the board, after about 10 minutes it reappeared an empty double unit. Metrolink you must keep this up.
